I mean, as Helsley said, the chop itself is a caveman-like caricature. The fact that they only put a tomahawk up on the screen while it happens instead of a picture of Chief Nocahoma doesn't make that aspect of it go away. I used to try to defend it somewhat but at some point I admitted that if it was any team other than my own I would say it crosses the line.

Marketing is tough when your team's mascot is derived from a culture that America backstabbed and genocided into oblivion. You gotta go pretty generic or else change the team name.

I am sorry to admit that I am not wearing a lot of orange out in public this season. Not because I'm embarrassed, but because I'm sick of total strangers stopping me to ask what's going on with Tennessee. Which is a thing that happens down here, unfortunately. I don't even mind the conversation it's just that you can only have it so many times.

That’s the part I have an issue with. It’s almost as if cultural sensitivities have a price tag. It needs to be one way or the other.
