How vindicated does littlevol feel today lol after being roundly mocked for his take on mauer by nearly everyone myself included he supplants jg as starter by game 5 almost exactly as predicted.

That does not excuse Banks' behavior.

I do not think that is what people are saying. I think people agree that Banks made some bad decisions. However, compared to other incidents around college football his mistakes are minor. In this day an age you can be let go for just saying the wrong thing. Although, being caught with drugs and a gun is no problem.

I think the interesting thing is why did TMZ run with story? What is their goal? I do not spend much time looking at TMZ but I do not think they run stories like that very often. For a team that has not really been relevant for a long time, we sure did get a lot of attention not just from local media but national media as well.

The reason they rereleased the original info was having to edit the new story, according to her.

They were legit upset that Pruitt dismissed Banks before they could 'break the news'.
Really wanted that angle because without it, the root of the story is "all verbal by Banks".

I think both incidents compounded. Also we don't know how Banks handled himself when confronted with this stuff. I have a difficult time believing that Pruitt willingly shoved Banks out the door. He seems to really care for his guys and will go the extra mile, beyond what most coaches would. I think he genuinely feels that when a kid fails, he fails. Now this is all my gut so I could be wrong. Pruitt , if anything seems genuine. I would be shocked if the decision wasn't taken out of his hands.

Banks has issues no doubt. I wish he was suspended for the year. Let him work on his character. I think the university could have come out looking better and the kid would have had a chance. If he failed after a year then you couldn't say you didn't try.

I think Maurer could potentially steal the job next year especially with his mobility and ability to extend plays.

JG looks like a QB who really needs a solid OL to be good. Shrout is a total mystery - all we know is he has an arm and that arm threw a lot of picks in his one full season of high school ball.

With yet another new OC coming in, meaning another new playbook to learn, starting QB job is up for the taking again.

IMO Maurer seems to have the ability and the mindset to pull it off.
