I understand the optimism - but Henry T is a mental freak and even he’s looked really bad at times in the middle of this defense. Those other guys are miles away from being ready to do it in the SEC.

Not to mention what happens when the injuries start to pile up.

The UT player expectation rules from 2005-2019 are as follows:

"Player will be an all-american" = all-sec

"Player will be all-sec" = decent, draftable

"Player will be pretty good and get drafted" = bad

"Player will surprise us" = bad

"Player will be average" = bad

"Player won't do squat" = gitshirted

Eh, it's the culture that many programs have. Just go down the rosters. Start at our rival down in Florida and their coach's roster at his old school. People praise him on this board.

I am not condoning anything. But, I think back to when this news came out, and I was listening to local Memphis radio. Two non UT hosts were talking about possible dismissal at the time, and then said that you wouldn't have a football team if you dismissed every kid who said things like this.
