People are trying to make this a Pruitt issue in this thread. It’s unreal. Anyone who watched the whole video would not think this is a bad look for Pruitt.

His only complaint is that they weren’t notified so it could have been taken care of. He said at least twice that Banks doesn’t have anyone at home to teach him what to do in a situation like this. Pruitt said they were teaching him and that they had talked with an officer about how to handle it and they thought it was taken care of. He was clearly only concerned that they hadn’t been notified so that they could have taken care of the problem. That was what was silly is that nobody had informed them.

Stop letting these trolls tell y’all that Pruitt was mad that the police didn’t just let him off or sweep it under the rug. Anyone who listened to the video and heard the entire conversation, as I did, knows that isn’t the truth. My goodness some of y’all are just being ridiculous on here.

Idc how late I am, thank you for breaking up that spin-fest.

His whole job is to entertain, yes you are correct, but he is not.
He's been in business in Knoxville long enough that i think it's safe to say someone out there enjoys his show. If it's not your cup of tea though i totally get that, i listen to him in controlled doses cause he definitely can be quite "extra" at times. My biggest gripe with him is some of his callers that ramble on and on for 20 minutes and he never cuts them off. that's when i usually flip over to the driver on fan run or occasionally some Swain. They all have their positives and negatives with the exception of Ainge who just sucks 100% of the time.

That is all pretty silly, but he had a good show yesterday. Had on local attorney and sports radio sponsor Marcos Garza to breakdown the legalities of the Banks situation. Then had a real powerful call in his “overtime” from a retired deputy sheriff from Shelby County who had a partner who had been shot and killed in the line of duty in Memphis.

The constructive criticism of the whole situation was that the administration in the athletic department needs to be monitoring these kids’ legal situations and make sure when they get tickets or minor charges they aren’t ignored and get resolved so no warrants ever get issued in the first place.

I tried listening to Fan Run Radio yesterday morning and it was all a bunch of guys who already wanted Pruitt fired using this as another club to beat their target. The “rebels” of Knoxville radio basically took the Pete Thamel & Dan Wolken position. I deleted their app.
I caught Basillio today, later in the show he said he was joking about taking credit for it. Said he was having some fun with it and it was said in jest...He is goofy but does have good guest and doesn't have to repeat himself 5 times a week like state run. I definitely wouldn't compare to Alex Jones though. That "person" is a waste of skin and oxygen.

Thanks for reinforcing my decision to renew my sirius account.

I don’t think this team is portrayed fairly from a talent standpoint. There is talent on the roster. We have had years with less talent.

Unfortunately the quarterback position is bad. Replace Bray with JG and Dooley probably wins 1 game in 2012. Replace Dobbs with JG and Butch Jones never sees a bowl game. QB position is that important. My biggest criticism of Pruitt is not having transfer QB on the roster this year.

But again, short-term was NEVER the sale with Pruitt. It was always a long-term bet.

Let's stop moving goalposts.

Sure and I agree but unless you Believe the results of the first few years isn’t an indication of what’s ahead that isn’t moving the goalpost.

Basilio's show can be tough to listen to when they get bogged down in silliness. I think what endears him to the ones who are loyal is that they are convinced he is a fan just like they are. I never listen to the entire postgame show, but I usually listen to some of it. It is entertaining to celebrate the wins and commiserate over the losses with other Vol fans, and when he does those shows he absolutely connects to the fans.

Fox Sports Knoxville is the biggest bunch of pantie-waste, whining, 20- or 30-something year olds that I've ever heard in my life. Can't stand anything about them.

Swain is OK, and Ainge is pretty good when he's talking real football...other than that he's just an overgrown adolescent.

If we had a transfer QB on the roster this year, everyone would be bitching about burning a spot in the class just like last year.

I get what you're saying - there are minimal goals along the way to show progress. But I always watch a season play out before any judgment of that season.

There is plenty of time to right this season to a degree. Some seem to believe we're destined for 2-3 wins, if that. I see plenty of opportunities ahead. Settle in BT and Bituli, and a passer, add in our minimal injuries, and we could have a hand up on teams come November.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Hindsight is 20/20. But we had 2 backups this season, so I don't think it was unreasonable to forego a transfer. Who would we have even gotten, anyway? No one has answered that. We weren't getting Fields, Hurts, Bryant. Do we want Riley Neal?? Lol

that sounds beyond terrible.

It was helpful. Garza made clear that once the warrant had been issued, the cops didn't have any discretion not to arrest Banks, especially in the days of body cams, they could lose their jobs if they didn't.

Exactly, it's therapy just like this board to process the ongoing reality show that the Tennessee Football program has become the last decade. The regular cast of callers are just like seeing the regular posters here. Much better than listening to Jimmy Hyams or Kesling do post-game interviews.

Yes no doubt my wishes for Pruitt to be fired is jumping the gun. I admit that. If he can rally and win 5-6 games this year it will be a solid show of growth

He’s as capable as anyone not named Urban Meyer, Nick saban, Dabo Swinney, Jimbo Fisher.
Wouldn't put him 5th in line by ANY means (nor would I put Fisher there...).

I'd put him in the "Great" category with guys like Patterson, Petersen, Leach, Snyder, Miles, etc.

Only 1 of them has won a natty, but that's beacuse the "elite" group has lived up to their billing and dominated the title race, plus many great coaches aren't tied to great programs. Mullen, tied to Florida recruiting, should have a better chance, albeit UGA/Bama dominance right now feels overwhelming.

I don't think "great" coaches have to win natties to be great. Just imagine we had lost to FSU in 1998. Does that diminish CPF so greatly that he is pushed down to merely "good" status? Hell no.

That said, I hope all to hell his MSU days were a long string of luck and UF burns from within into molten lava s***cake.

Ok, you say helpful, I say I could not care less about it, much less listen to some lawyer drone on about something that has already been beaten into the ground. More power to you.

I thought I was clear that I was putting him in the “field” versus the elite coaches. He’s not elite. Not many humans are. “He’s not winning a national championship” is kind of bupkis.

Well, at 11 am yesterday it hadn't been beaten fully into the ground yet. He was the first person with actual knowledge of the subject matter I had heard talk about it, so YMMV.

2 threads on VQ of people getting that "Auburn feeling" for this weekend. Tbh I had it going into UF. They had all sorts of offseason issues, some disgruntled fans after scraping by UK, multiple starters down that had a big impact, breaking in a QB that had never started a college game. I just thought stars were aligning.

But not this game. I have zero fuzzy feelings. We are now the one with all the issues and uncertainty, off the field distractions, etc. We had a bye week, but so did they. UGA is insanely talented and they have a super solid QB that probably will never hand the ball to us like Stidham did. This isn't Richt's UGA with top-10, but nowhere near top-3, recruiting. This isn't Hudson Mason vs Dobbs at QB.

But I also can't get that ND game out of my head either. UGA was at home and a 2 TD favorite and ND had every shot in the world to win. Or the bowl game where Texas was a 12 pt dog and whipped the pups. They seem to have a way of playing down to competition at times...but even that isn't enough to even give me a glimmer of hope.

Their strength is...well, at many places, but OL might be their best unit. Our DL and limited LBs corps is a major underdog here. We'll see how much fight we have, because we sure as hell shouldn't even hold a candle to them on paper. They should be able to hand it off and run over us all day. Can we hold for a half or 3 quarters? Would be proud to see even a repeat of last year's first 3 quarters.

Butch's teams brought the fight to uga his first 4 years. Would love to see a 2nd straight uga game under Pruitt where we showed HEART and determination.

Butch went against much worse UGA teams that Pruitt
