I agree our roster was way better but you have to take expectations and demand of each program too. “Winning” at Miss state is going 8-4 or 9-3. “winning” at Tennessee is 11-1 or 12-0.

I’m fine with him playing. He should be playing.

And it will blow over soon enough.

But it was definitely more than “smarting off”

It’s unfortunate that this has become a national story, and yes, the Knoxville media sucks for going out of their way to blow it up.

You do realize we gleefully sing about murdering cops every Saturday? No one is making us out to be public enemy #1 for that.

What Banks did was stupid but the cop there didn't even get pissed enough to write him a citation for disorderly conduct over it. Let's not pretend this was any more than someone shooting his mouth off.

"Tennessee roster" and the words "way better"have no business being used in the same sentence.

Also MSU has a significantly lower floor and celling than TN does... At least from an overall expectation standpoint

It was the highest level of “smarting off”...nothing beyond that.

Maybe in the past, but now there's a new baseline. I think 80% of Vol fans would throw a parade if Pruitt could average 8-9 wins his first contact.

Imo it’s the coaches job to get players better until they reach their ceilings. Once they reach their ceilings it’s the coaches job to keep them there. If a player regresses some blame on the coaches is warranted

I am guessing Vols rosters 2018 and 2019 significantly better than what Mullen had to work with.

So went backed and checked what tslent Mullen inhereted. MS St recruiting classes were 9-10th best in SEC in 2006, 2007, 2008. Mullens First class was ranked 8th in 2009. They were #2 in Conference in Rushing behind Antony Dixon. But their QBs were Relf and Tyson Lee...woof. Can't tell me either of those guys were better than JG.

Suburbs, a lot different than 20 years ago Cordova and getting worse but suburbs. Now there are plenty of places where what mr banks says is true. And as much as I think banks has made a mistake and hope he changes, any kid from the parts of town I’m familiar with is probably more concerned with making it out of there vs. bragging about it.
