I know it’s impossible to do, but the “he is the coach/is not the coach” after every game/season isn’t the way we need to approach the rebuild. It’s a 4-5 year rebuild. It’s like being graded on 5 page test after the first page. I’m not gonna judge Pruitt one way or the other until he’s had his 4-5 years. I don’t care how it looks getting there/how many questions he gets wrong, as long as we pass the test by the end of it.

If anything, the spoon-fed narrative is to pretend everything is fine and that the national media is wrong about this. All the orange glasses wearers think it’s no big deal - people without a bias think it makes him look bad. I tend to agree.

And I’m not trying to get anyone fired for any of this ****. It just makes Pruitt look like a dummy.

Think really hard how you keep agreeing with KV.

Meh

We all knew this was a 3-5 year rebuild but let’s not pretend to excuse the complete flop this last 6 game stretch has been. Nobody and I mean nobody expected this debacle and it’s time we stop defending it like it was expected because we knew a long rebuild was coming.

If you knew it was a 3 to 5 year rebuild, why you bitching in year 2?

That’s easy. It was never ever ever a 3-5 year rebuild where the discussion of winning 1-3 games should have ever been apart of year 1, 2,3,4 or year 5.

That’s ridiculous to suggest that since year two of a rebuild there isn’t a difference between a 3-9 year and a 6-6 year.

We are WAY behind schedule in this 3-5 year rebuild and it’s crazy people are suggesting otherwise

This is extremely apropos....

Banks missed a court date, y'all. And then he acted like a child. The kid deserves to have the guidance he receives from JP and staff. He doesn't deserve to be kicked off the team.

The Banks situation is an internal matter. UT is never going to win with some media people. Too many agendas, too much backstory, too much ill-will. Every large program has incidents like this-- and many that are worse. We just don't hear about those because the local media covering other programs do not make it their mission to turn every issue into a Very Big Deal. Knoxville media and local sports columnists do, then national media piles on. Everything at UT is magnified and blown way out of proportion.

Like most big programs, UT used to receive courtesy calls from the local police for player-involved incidents. But that caused major media outrage when it came to light during the Title IX investigations under Butch. So a lot of it stopped, even though it's SOP at other schools. Nobody's complaining at those schools... or writing about it... or digging up dirt to make those programs look bad. UT has fewer player incidents than most large programs. But you hear about every single transgression at UT-- while much bigger ones are quietly disposed of at other programs. Few programs could hold up to the scrutiny UT gets.

This kind of stuff is used in negative recruiting. Look how many kids get in trouble at UT. It’s getting real hard to support. Maybe they should let it burn. I’m very discouraged that we will never win big again. Media and city doesn’t care. Let Knoxville burn.

You underestimate the local media
lol. O I have been very aware for many years. This is hardly new.

I was referring only to Ubben's twitting of a few minutes ago. He DID leave some things out. But I meant only that U's quoting positive things shouldn't be taken as some great effort on his part, but on CPF taking swift decisive action to stomp on the rumors and to reiterate his belief that CJP is the man.

Winning cures a lot. Many folks pick at anything they can when things go south. If Tennessee were winning, fans would be even more critical of the media. It's a min mentality. Pruitt really needs to get this team playing well and finish the year off strong because the negativity may be too much to overcome.

If a transcript of the football portions (and Dickey as AD) portions of Fulmer's Vol Call appearance turn up, somebody please post it. I just looked but I couldn't find it.

Getting in front of it was the absolute right move for Fulmer. Now with that second guessing from troll national writers tapped down for the time being, it’s long past time for Pruitt to show some coaching talent and leadership the rest of this season. It’ll be obvious if anything’s clicked.
