Not sure the exact situation here, but about 11 years ago I got a speeding ticket that I paid that ended up with me sitting in jail overnight. I paid the ticket to the clerk, well before the court date and with the payment, the court date was supposed to go away. For whatever reason (incompetence) the clerk didn't properly enter it into the system. Well that court date came and of course I didn't go because I paid the ticket. About 2 weeks went by without any indication or notice something was wrong, until about 11:30 PM on a Thursday night I get a knock at my door. It was the Sheriff's Department to arrest me on the bench warrant. I offered to show the sheriff deputy my receipt for the ticket but they said it would have to be dismissed by a judge. So I had to sit in jail overnight until the court opened in the morning. Showed the judge my receipt and I didnt even get an apology. I asked the intake officer why they would knock on my door with a bench warrant for FTA at 11:30 at night and he told me that they will get funding from the State for 2 days since I will have to be there overnight because the court wouldn't release me until the morning. I didnt say the things Banks said, but I certainly understand his frustrations.

Fulmer had a liaison to work with local law enforcement. His name was Sam Brown. It was Kippy Brown's brother. Many things were smoothed over back in the day. Not sure if Sam is still over there or if they have someone else like that or not.

If you heard the audio, the officer said he had discretion if he was simply citing for driving on a suspended license. An officer can write a misdemeanor citation if that is the case. But this was a bench warrant issued by a judge. It’s their job to execute a warrant and bring the person in. Like I said, it’s standard operating procedure.

The Banks situation is an internal matter. UT is never going to win with some media people. Too many agendas, too much backstory, too much ill-will. Every large program has incidents like this-- and many that are worse. We just don't hear about those because the local media covering other programs do not make it their mission to turn every issue into a Very Big Deal. Knoxville media and local sports columnists do, then national media piles on. Everything at UT is magnified and blown way out of proportion.

Like most big programs, UT used to receive courtesy calls from the local police for player-involved incidents. But that caused major media outrage when it came to light during the Title IX investigations under Butch. So a lot of it stopped, even though it's SOP at other schools. Nobody's complaining at those schools... or writing about it... or digging up dirt to make those programs look bad. UT has fewer player incidents than most large programs. But you hear about every single transgression at UT-- while much bigger ones are quietly disposed of at other programs. Few programs could hold up to the scrutiny UT gets.

I think the chances of us keeping this a competitive game goes way down if 18 starts and plays the entire game. I seem to be one of the few that is willing to mention that 8 of his 11 passes touched a florida defenders hands.

I think he will throw a pick 6 and likely 3 total picks if he plays the entire game

On the S&P Report on their YT Channel both AP & Jesse said they expect JG to start and for UT to play both QBs. Idk what to think anymore.

More RPO and I expect they'll move the pocket to help avoid pressure and allow more flood routes.

Lots of rolls and throw back to (hopefully) an empty field for a screen perhaps?

Agreed. It’s one thing to have moxie, but you better go show out as well.

I just don't see anything JG has showed us that earns him the right to get ANY snaps this weekend, much less start. Put the young guy out there for 4 quarters and let's see what he can do with a full game plan centered around him. sharing snaps all week with JG just isn't going to help a young guy trying to learn all the checks/gain chemistry with the starters. It's a hindrance to split snaps with JG who has shown he is a sunbelt level QB at best.

No matter what we are losing the game. Why not give the other QBs a shot with the 1’s to learn and grow before the back half of our schedule? We are not going to win with JG and we have to give the others a shot.

I wouldn’t say no matter what we are losing but if so this is a game where being competitive does mean something. A moral victory would go along way around here and I feel confident of that

Oh I do know for sure that the word “usually” shouldn’t be used to describe improper police behavior. There are bad cops and they are disgusting but “usually” that isn’t the norm and that suggestion is equally disgusting
