Nah, if you are going to start Maurer, you let him have the game. You also let him throw the ball and not try and neuter him with play calling. If you put him in for a couple of series and you run on 1 and 2 down and then call a passing play with one downfield route with 3 breakoff routes, then you are setting him up for failure.I think I would start Maurer just to see how he handles it. If he pisses down his leg you go to JG and let him take this beating.
Once it’s out of hand get Shrout some run with the ones.
One of the few times I have actually agreed with you.CTE can only be diagnosed during an autopsy, and JG is also incredibly young to already have symptoms. I think JG's poor play just comes down to him not being able to handle the pressure of this stage of his college career. Like virtually all college players he wants to get drafted and he's overthinking things. He didn't have time to think last year and played better because he played on pure football instinct. Now he's second guessing himself which results in late throws.
I think there’s a middle ground. If he plays well, you keep doing it. If he fails, I’d probably still give him a full quarter.Nah, if you are going to start Maurer, you let him have the game. that’s not how cte worksRumor time. I talked to a guy in Knoxville over the weekend. He heard that internally there are concerns about JG and CTE. JG can’t remember his reads which would explain some of his regression. Talk about a huge liability issue if any of the coaches continued to play him despite this info.
If you don’t think the head coach being on tape 1) insinuating a cop should ignore a warrant because cops at other schools have acted in a similar fashion and 2) being dismissive of the cop for doing his job once tactic #1 didn’t work is a problem then I don’t know what to say.
It’s not a fireable offense or anything like that. But it makes us look terrible and will only be added on to the list of misery as we continue to get our heads beat in on the field every Saturday.
He could have been playing with a concussion against Vandy last year. I wouldn’t be surprised if he had some lingering effects. He got absolutely clobbered in the Missouri game, left because of a concussion, and was playing a week later.LOL people will believe anything. Especially if it’s bad news about Tennessee Volunteer football.
Again, CTE symptoms do not show up in people for several years after continual head trauma. It comes in 4 stages from what I remember. Short term memory loss is like Stage 1 iirc. I’m not saying any of this is true, but the hits he has taken make me think it’s possible for him to have some memory loss issues.
when they say EVERYONE is on the same page and pulling in the same direction in places like Tuscaloosa and Athens, they mean EVERYONE.........................I understand the comments and why Pruitt said that, but in reality I guarantee players get preferential treatment in Tuscaloosa and probably Athens. Pruitt is probably frustrated because everyone wants Bama/UGA results but everyone isn't bought in either.
Anyway, I couldn't give a rats ass about this incident. It's been dealt with. Move on.
