Complaining about the police doing their jobs and arresting Banks on the active warrant. Sounds like this last line was spoken very sarcastically. Do not appreciate that. At all.

Tbh, what he said is probably no worse than what other coaches have said when coming to get their player at 3:00 in the morning for doing something dumb, this time it just happened to be caught on camera in all it's glory. Optics of this are terrible. Cops get disrespected during the course of their job, I've been there. Honestly, I have more of an issue with Banks saying "from where I'm from, we shoot at cops" than I do with what Pruitt said. But that's jmo.

We truly do see the worst that society has to offer. I’ve been in healthcare long enough to be almost completely jaded. I like to say that when it comes to people, I keep my expectations low. That way, I’m rarely disappointed. Sucks to have to be that way, but a lot of people will find your weakness and then eat you alive. You are in the career you’re in, I imagine, because you love it and you’re good at it. Focus on your patients and try to not let the circumstances of what brought them to you beat you down.

I’m not sure what exactly Pruitt said was incorrect. I don’t believe he was asking why he had to be arrested he was confused why he hadn’t been told there was a warrant

Oh, it’s bad for sure. Just saying I’m more inclined to say it’s just an idiot kid saying whatever he thinks will get a rise out of the officer.

Pruitt insinuating he should be let go because he’d be released in other college towns - and that being caught on tape - is bad.

I don’t think it’s a big deal and it’s a total nonstory outside of Tennessee fans rabidly consuming Tennessee news. I imagine it’s one of those things that happens everywhere except for the places they don’t arrest football players over paying parking tickets.

It is my opinion that Banks behavior was SIGNIFICANTLY worse, insinuating (threatening) cops and attempting to intimidate (and demean) the lady involved. I can also assure you he has never shot at cops and that’s not a thing that happens in Memphis but good to see “I’m from Memphis” is still something wannabe blowhards still toss out for cred. I hope he was consuming alcohol.

I’m not sure how you got that out of the transcript. It seems pretty clear to me that Pruitt thought Banks should not have been arrested on the warrant.

Regarding Pruitt and whether or not it’s a big deal - I don’t think it is in the sense that he should be fired or punished. But I’ve seen a lot of national folks say things like “he doesn’t get it” and “he was never ready for this job” and those are things we feared might be the case just from the on-field results.

Agree.


Banks can get ****ed. I actually knew one of the few police officers who was shot and killed in Memphis... and he wasn’t even killed by Memphians anyway (illegals). Was a good dude from a great family.

Hopefully no one ever judges my ability to do my job based on things I say on the telephone in the wee hours of the morning. For starters, I wouldn’t even answer.
