Yeah, I really want to see Shrout with the 1’s. That’s the guy, in my opinion.

Kid has the timing. Just needs to not let passes sail. Otherwise I think he is pretty good. People were getting upset about him throwing “fastballs” but he did that when he was putting the ball into a tight window. The receivers have to handle those kinds of throws (the 1s probably would of).

UT needed UF to falter with the Bama blowout.

Fulmers best teams and talent were from 95 - 01. That happen to coincide with GA and Bama being down and SC not being any good until much later with Spurrier. Recruiting got more difficult in the mid 2000s for UT because they were no longer top 5 good every year and those schools started recruiting better.

He had good teams here and there after that but was never close to that run in talent or record. I'm not taking anything away from his career. He had a good one. The best of it typically was tied to Cut and Chavis and when one of those pieces left it was noticeable.

UTs admin making bad decisions post Fulmer doesnt make him a better coach at the time he got fired.
Glad you mentioned Chavis. Kiffster bringing his daddy in sucked

The interesting, and unfortunate thing about that is that one day we'll be in a position to pay them back if they do it (these things always turn and will in this case too), but they do nothing so cool to pay them back on.
It is SO great to be in Athens for a Vols win! Some my favorite games.

I think more than that is going to happen. I would expect this to be challenged in a court system. There has to be a line between Professional Athletes and Amateur Athletes.

I say the way the NCAA gets around it is they state that any athlete who accepts endorsement money is considered a “professional athlete” and thereby ineligible to play college sports in the NCAA.

Edit: Any school who leaves the NCAA loses all funding etc from the NCAA.

The way the California law is written it states that it is illegal for a university to deny a player to get paid for his likeness. Therefore, the schools would be breaking the law if they tried to persuade kids to abide by NCAA regulations.

We could take a page from how the Steelers are using their #2... Easy reads, not using the whole field, get it out quick... They've gotten somewhat creative in manufacturing a run game... And their simply not requiring Rudolf to have to everything in the passing game...

It's not overly exciting... But so far it's effective
I like the reverse pivot sprint out to throw...Maurer would do that well one would think.

Lol.. Yeah. Gotta give the Steelers some credit... They've found ways to make this kid effective.

17/18 136 yards and a TD... So far

I'd take that pretty much any Saturday..
