Maybe you should go read Urbans resume prior to FL before you claim Butch and Dooley had similar records. Urban was a rising star nobody even had heard of Butch or Dooley. Yes, Urbans resume was light years ahead of either of our cluster hires. As to muschamp, he was even a better hire as he's never lost to the Vols at either of his stops. Kirby was a much more seasoned coordinator and a native son of the Georgia bull dogs so that is an outlier. I respect your opinion but both Dooley and Butch were substandard hires that should never been under consideration let alone hired.

I just gave you Urban’s resume. It’s black and white. 4 years. I never said they had similar records. You are just making things up now. He had 4 years to judge as a coach and never won his conference in the MAC. Butch, in fact, did win the MAC and went undefeated in conference. He also won CUSA.

The fact that Muschamp has never lost to UT has no bearing on the argument. You aren’t getting my position. He is still the type of hire that we make.

What was Mark Richt? You can’t look at hindsight. Before he was hired.

You are definitely looking in hindsight. I’m not saying Dooley and Butch are good hires. Never have. But again, those are the types that UT, UF, and UGA are hiring. I am going to have to leave it at that and be done.

So this Auburn team that some of y'all are getting lathered up over is different from the one we embarrassed last year by what exactly? A competent QB? Any other major personnel changes?

Also interesting that us beating them was the result of our QB overperforming.

Hard to say If we are one QB from success, but it does make you wonder.

"Embarrassed"? We beat them by 6 points. Anyway, the main thing I see is their OL really has developed and improved since last year. Defense remains solid, and is even better since it is on the field less with the offense moving the ball and Gus back to calling plays.

Muschamp was head coach in waiting at Texas before he got tired of waiting for Mac to hang it up and took the UF job. Kirby was the Bama DC for close to a decade and turned down multiple head coaching opportunities before his alma mater called. Pruitt jumped from staff to staff and was interviewed but not offered a job by Miss State. Reminds me of the old kid show song 'One of These Things Is Not Like the Others.'

we can sit here all week long like Tom Hanks in that movie looking for patterns and clues. I'm certainly not sold. Wasnt keen on the hire.

The guy deserves another year. I wish options were different too.

My chocolate lab mix is named Ella...
She is beyond intelligent. Dog can climb a ladder.

She could easily be trained to do this.

She is mixed with beagle, that's the nervous/anxious/barkey annoying half that gets distracted by smallest scent. she'd be an amazing hunting dog. Unfortunately i am not a dog trainer, and live in E TN, app there are no birds around here.

Although i think i saw a pheasant in Kport, around John B this year.

You made the comparison between Dooley and Butch and urban, not I. If you think either of their resumes at the time were comparable to Urbans then their is really no need to continue for sure. They were in no way similar hires.

I get your position perfectly, you think just because coach A had the same position as coach B when he was hired that the hires are essentially the same. My position is that it is not. Regardless of their position each coach has a different level of success and a different level of perception from the college football world. Saying the Butch and Dooley were equal level hires to FL is ludicrous.

I honestly can't believe that you are carrying the universities water on this. Not even taking hindsite into consideration both of those hires were well below what TN or any program of Tennessee's stature should ever consider.

There are always options. Just depends on how much suck people are willing to tolerate while waiting to see if the most recently exercised option works out.

All things considered, UTAD has to choose carefully. Was firing used car salesman premature? Do we really want to go in farther with another change? Will any legit candidate want to take on a full rebuild job with high expectations & 2 years to do it?

If Jeremy can keep this class in tact im good. not happy, but good. i think its easier to go from pro style to spread than from spread to pro, personnel wise. at least i hope thats issue
