His current strength is occasionally reacting to pressure well enough to get a ball off that Jennings, Callaway or Palmer can go athlete on. That happened occasionally last year when he was getting blowed up every other play. He wasnt terrible last year under very different circumstances.
They ve gotten the OL better and given him a chance to actually read and deliver. Basically, play the position, something he didnt really get to do last year. You cant throw passes you dont see.

Theres no system for his current strengths.
that’s not fair he was productive last year for the most part. It’s not his fault Chaney is asking him to do things he can’t do.

I know you’re a Vols fan. I hear you, and understand your point of view but mine take is different. They CAN count on my loyalty and I don’t mind that they know it. I don’t feel taken advantage of because I’m not ignorant or downtrodden. I choose to continue to go to every game I can and I can’t imagine a time when I wouldn’t. 🙂

If our hc ever said something like that some of our fans would never let it die. We'd be screaming for him to be fired on the spot. How do I know this? Because we've gotten upset at our coaches for saying things much less insulting.
They still talking about him saying he’ll just go out and find 25 more players.

Vols, Dolphins, Cubs and Jazz........other than the 98 National Championship and The 2016 World series my sports fandom is full of disappointment. My only joy right now is the fact that The Cubs have more World Series Championships this decade and century than The Braves.
Vols, Dolphins, Magic, Former Marlins

my sport life sucks

JG is a very limited QB lol he’s not good, he never has been. You would think a seasoned OC like Chaney would recognize that instead of continuously asking him to execute an offense he can’t.
Okay, I'll give you credit there. But what offense do you think he can execute? And shouldn't we show recruits the offense we want to run?

one that moves the ball, similar to what we did last year. Force the run game even when it’s not working well. Which it should bc our OL is better. Keep Jennings in the slot. Let him work underneath. Make JG run some. There’s no reason our offense should be worse than last year. Same roster but even added a decent RB and 2 nice young OLmen

'Bone, by virtue of 'hindsight is 20-20' model, and 'ol conservative Phillip. Jeremy has another year.

In hindsight, Butch should have had another year. Cant stand the guy, be he had earned it.

He has another year to weed out the kids who dont want to be here. to get a qb who sees more than 1/3 of the field, and recruit more Toto's.
I think Butch's downfall was not being given the money to hire a top notch OC. He then tried to micromanage everything and it cost him his job. But he beat the teams he was supposed to until the last year, and had success here that we hadn't seen since Fulmer.

Helton's playcalling definitely seemed to work better.

Real world decisions in any career, gang. You toil away learning your craft and find success over a decade as a second banana with several quality employers in your industry. Headhunter calls and says he has a great opportunity with a well known company in the same established industry. You know the company and its location. Needs a bit of turnaround work as the previous CEO's seemingly messed it up, but the foundation for success is there and the company has been ranked in the top ten in the industry for many years of its long past. Winning the job would triple or quadruple your pay with a 5 year contract if you interview successfully and they offer you the job. As an added incentive they are offering an attractive buy-out in case you fail like the guys before you did. You get a nice pool of money to hire quality talent in your industry and your future boss is willing to spend some money on the facilities to improve efficiencies. You feel you are ready for the challenge and have the ability to get it done.

Do you take the interview?

You know the answer. Kiffin, Dools, Botch, and now, Pruitt took the interview(s) and were hired. You would to if you were them.

However, none of that means they were the right hires for the job at UT. The people who hire the coaches are the problem.

The recruiting forum might be the most backward section of vn. You guys think the fans have anything to do with who's hired and who's not? If that were true, Pruitt would've never been hired. As I recall most of you were damn sure that Gruden was hired. Talk about something to behold.

Like that was only restricted to the RF, lol.

I’m not a customer. I’m a Volunteer from Tennessee, win or lose. Like my dad, I’ll go to my grave as a Tennessee Volunteer.

I'm with you. But therein lies the problem, many fans have a customer mentality. I'm not saying there aren't things to be upset about, but a "customer mentality" will react differently to disappointing, or even bad product, than will a "fan mentality". I've posted what I see as the difference before, so I'll leave it at that.

You still don't get it, do you?
