Tennessee finished higher in recruiting than Arkansas in the past several years. So to say Jeremy was left with crap players is a bit disingenuous.

And to call a kid cancer because maybe he doesn't like the way hes being coached seems a bit out of touch. Maybe, just maybe, the coach from Arkansas is relating better to his players and they are willing to be coached up.

Today's kids are not relating to the foot in your ass mentality as much as they did in years past. Just work at dabo Sweeney and the job he did at Clemson against Alabama.

Just my humble opinion. According to a post earlier The kids are rallying behind Pruit and it is a family atmosphere so who knows.

Arkansas is improved and they were a dumpster fire like us last year. They were a play away from upsetting A&M today. So what's our coach's excuse when a program that was worse than us is going toe to toe with top 25 teams in the coach's second year? No excuse
I don’t usually say this to any poster but please tell me you’re kidding . The Arkansas game last week was absolutely horrible. They look as bad as you can possibly look and be an SEC team last week.

UNC handed a far more deep and talented roster over to an exceptionally experienced HC, the honorable Mac Brown, who's won a natty and a bunch of SWC championships. They lucked into a fluke last-second passing faux pas in their win over a pretty lousy USCjr bunch (1-3, same as UT). They managed to slip by a terrible Miami team (not as good as BYU) and lost to a less talented Wake Forest bunch and last week a deliriously less talented Appy State. Yet...they finally put some pieces together, thanks in great part due to a future NFLer qb, and gave Clemmy all they could handle. Do I sit around and, like you, wonder how nice it would be for our Vols to be like THEM? Me? I envision such a fight brought on by that bunch of tarheels as hope for our youngsters...in very the near future. Decent qb-ing could've easily had us at 3-1 and not, like the game chickens, at 1-3.

I invite you to scroll upward and re-read Vol_Lyfe's post. He's right on. Whether or not all the crybabies on this site keep on whining all season long, these young men...minus the now-exiting bunch of clueless Butchites...are going to push onward, putting the pieces together and maneuvering themselves onto all the same pages, until we'll, first, see them put on a fight similar to the one NC put on against Clemmy. Then, they'll pull off a win over a top tier SEC team (like Auburn last year), they'll finally make a bowl game (yep. in 2020), and very possibly they'll find themselves in the same conversation they were in during the late 90's.
Patience? This coaching staff and most of the players have that in boatloads. All those who're whining that UT football's existential apocalypse is upon us? Well. It's just inside your heads. As long as these men...young and older...keep working and learning and believing and holding their heads up...I'm behind 'em 110%, and I'm not alone. GBO!
Just stop it. North Carolina's recruiting classes for 2015 through 2018 were ranked #28, 32, 29, and 20 respectively. The football team's record for the 2017 season was 3-9 and their record for 2018 was 2-9. So no, Mack Brown did not take over a, "far more talented and deep roster."

Stop lying. It's obnoxious.

No one had the dumpster fire like us, your question isn't relevant

It really all has to do with the cornbread

Arkansas has 53 freshmen on their roster. And that team, with a backup quarterback, is far more competitive against an above-average SEC team than we are at this moment.

They have better coaches with more experience than what we have right now. Their players can see the improvement and are buying in. They play with heart and confidence across the board. That is what an experienced head coach who knows a thing or two about rebuilding can do even in the most difficult of situations.

Rebuilding implies progression. Arkansas has not won an SEC game since 2017. But they look far better as a team than Tennessee looks right now with both coaching staffs in their second season.

Pruitt had better be thankful we aren't playing Arkansas. Arkansas would easily have their first win...and a host of recruiting groupies who inexplicably worship Pruitt would have their eyes opened to reality.

Morris is a superior coach in terms of tactical understanding and teaching. They lose to San Jose State and the game isn't close. Do they lay down and die for Texas A&M? No. They fight to the end.

Pruitt gets his doors blown off by Shawn Elliot and Georgia State. Does Tennessee lay down and die for Florida? Hard to tell when Mullen treats the game like a scrimmage against Stetson.

Bammer Butch is in over his head. But be thankful: he is at least 100 times better at being unqualified than he was in his first year.

I thought Arkansas played well yesterday. But they lost. If you buy into "moral victories" then the Razorbacks are doing great! Second place is first loser each and every time there is a competition. Yesterday the Razorbacks were first losers.

It's beyond lying, it's gaslighting.

I would prefer Tennessee play like that against Florida than to lay down and die after the first quarter.

When you are competitive in defeat, valuable lessons are learned enabling you to win in the long run.

Since the Kentucky win, Tennessee has been competitive in defeat one time. That was against a team that just lost to Toledo.

We aren't expecting championships. But we sure as hell should expect these coaches field a team that is competitive. We are not going to develop as a program without instilling a sense of competitive fight in the players we have right now.

And for the folks who are saying A&M didn't bring their A game, it's not like Florida did either. Florida looked very beatable against us, we just looked so much worse it didn't matter.

All this is why you don't compare scores, Arkansas and UNC both lost to nobody's last week, and some are praising their coaches as made some great rebuild already. They both played hard and good yesterday, but I would hardly say the coaches have a proven rebuid, that is comical. The same folks I highly doubt would be complimenting us like that. They would still be harping about Appy st and Portland st pushing us around.

QB play is a must to win. Fulmer always had 2-3 QBs who could win until the last 4-5 years of his term.
Crompton and the new system killed him there at the end. Wonder if Crompton would have turned out the way he did without Kiffin, and if the system had been grasped had Fulmer been given one more year? I would say no to the former, yes to the latter, but IDK if Fulmer would have still kept his job if Crompton was still throwing it into the stands on 4th down.

yeah....they looked much improved when they lost to San Junior College football of the West.......
Sure, they looked decent against aTm yesterday on a "neutral" field.....
But aTm moved the ball at will on them all game long--especially on 3rd and Chavis (some things never change).

The biggest difference between Arky and UT right now is QB PLAY....They're getting decent QB play while we are getting ZERO QB play.

Mark me down as the 98th person to question the logic and remind the OP that last week they lost to San Jose St and have yet to win an SEC game with new coach.

Ya Fired!!
