Do we not agree that what Butch inherited from Dooley was worse than what Pruitt inherited from Butch?
Ehh. Different but essentially the same. Butch left a pretty bare roster full of “stars” that never lived up to the hype and guys that had to medically retire. I swear I’ve never seen more medical retirements out of this current group

Just to remind everybody how bad Dooleys poop was..

I think if either one of the Freshman QBs would just get in the game and relax and realize.... “hey I don’t have to throw for 30 yds every play, I just need to get the ball 3 to 5 yds consistently to open up the pass game and take the shots when they are there” if they did that and just took what the defense gave them they would be good.

The first Freshman QB that figures it out next week will be the starter for the rest of the year.

By no means a Butch fan. Just making an argument that we might have been better off. I surely want Pruitt to succeed... just hate being at the bottom of the barrel in the SEC.

That's what I'm preaching. I agree we need to give Pruitt time to get this sh*t going.

Edit:
People were so quick to jump off Butch but not so with Pruitt.
Dude people didn’t jump off butch until year 3 when he choked away games repeatedly in the same fashion, had coaching turnover, and no strength and conditioning coach. He barely won 4 games the year he was fired, what in the world are y’all talking about butch would have been better? He was given plenty of time and he’s the one who brought us to the bottom again haha. Pruitt didn’t magically bring us here after Georgia state. It just feels that way because after pruitts first year we never guessed it would be this bad. I think he just lost too much on the defensive lines last year and hasn’t had time to fill it in one year. Not to mention JG being a head case.

Good grief are we really arguing Butch in here? We wouldn’t even have a team. He had the entire roster basically ready to quit football. 9 wins bahahaha. He wouldn’t have these same players Pruitt has brought in. Afraid he and Jg will do good at Rutgers? Lmao he had 2-3 yrs of Jg and made him look like a dildo.

The real question should be did Fulmer make the right choice between Mel Tucker and Jeremy Pruitt. Not if Butch should still be coach.

Nobody likes it. Revisionist history isn't going to get us out of it.

I think it’s safe to say Pruitt has a higher ceiling than butch probably. If next year saban retired and you gave Pruitt 10 years and butch 10 years with an established program i think Pruitt probably wins more games.

But in terms of building from the ground Butch got us some really good players and we were competitive really quick despite taking over a worse situation from Dooley than Pruitt took over for him. (Not arguing about it anymore just my opinion).

The question is can Pruitt ever get it off the ground? Not looking good right now.
