I don’t know. He was about 10-15 yards past him and if JG hits him in stride...., either way it’s a game changing play with score only 7-0. And that’s after the drop int.Only if he can outrun that safety, which I highly doubt. Maybe a good stiff arm would do the job, but haven't seen that from him to be honest.
I hear you bro. I just think there’s a lot of people playing both sides of the fence in an attempt to take up for the coaches.
People can’t say Pruitt doesn’t have the horses to win or be competitive in games then turn around and say this team is 3-1 or 4-0 with a decent QB.
The fact of the matter is we suck all the way around. The roster sucks, the QB sucks, the coaches suck.I certainly think everyone can share the blame. The GSU game was on the coaches, too. But we could have beaten BYU with a better QB. We have a second year head coach who is going to make some mistakes, and we have young players everywhere. We have to have a solid QB to at least compete with our peers, and we can't do it.
He was given leeway with 35 or 40 initial counters in 1 year. Using the new grad transfer rule, he took an absurd number of fbs grad transfers. He started this year by beating an fcs team by 5 points and akron by 9. Not saying he may not be a good coach, but he was given a once in a lifetime opportunity to load up extremely fast. Not apples to apples.
Still, I will say his ability to bring a bunch of unrelated guys with zero chemistry together to win immediately is impressive.
Seems to be really high on this staff still and he's selling it to recruits. I mean if the kids are still bought in, maybe we should all take a step back as fans.
We're using our RBs. We've attempted to use the TE, but JG can't get it to him. We've tried a few trick plays with little success. I mean, JG has trouble even with the swing passes. I'm just not sure you can blame Chaney's "creativity" when the QB is so obviously struggling with everything. It's not one part of the game JG is having trouble with. It's all parts of the game.Look at Chaney’s play calling at Georgia compared to tennessee,I totally understand he’s hindered by the QB position so that limits a lot but even with JG’s issues.he’s still not using the play makers we have on Offense as far as Jet sweeps(RB),The TE (DWA) or even using Couch in some type of running package to give him some type of space to make a play, you could even throw Jauan in there on a trick play.
im just sayin it’s obvious the QB sucks so work around that and use the play makers you have to throw off the defensive off. When Chaney was At Georgia he was using his RB,TE a lot and used a lot of play action also while doing the “flea flicker” but it was never a “look to the WR outside First approach” which allowed everything to open up..here we are doing swing passes and hand offs ..the 3 plays and a cloud of dust is old school and won’t work.that’s why Les Miles is at KU and Steve’s spurrier is retired.Saban was on the verge of being passed up till he altered his offense a little bit other teams were catching on but he has the O line and play makers to do that.Creativity Use the tools around your QB to make him look atleast relevant even if he is S**t.i just don’t think we are including all of our play makers much.
Tbf almost all, even Mullen guys, said the same thing - of course Mullen will be better the first couple years. That gap certainly looks huge right now. He's a seasoned hc in the sec...the question was ceiling vs ceiling. Can Mullen ever breakthrough his ceiling? If we stick with Pruitt, we'll have at best a rough idea of his ceiling, but not till at least year 4 or 5, minimum. That is the hardest part of having a 1st time coach, all the "what ifs".
Let's not forget even Saban took till year 5 to get Michigan St beyond 7-5. He was barely above .500 after 4 years. And we're talking the GOAT here as comparison.
no, we didn't either get in contact with him again or were late to the party or whatever, i forget the specifics....but............Mullen wasn't choice one here. we talked, and hired Schiano. and as soon as Kelly got hired by UCLA, Florida made Mullen the priority. by the time we decided to come back around, it was already over.
our window to hire Mullen was before UCLA hired Chip Kelly, cause that was UF's first choice.

Not a soul around him. Walks in untouched.I actually agree with Kingston.
That being said, if DWA had been able to catch the pass in stride, I think he definitely had a chance to score. But he'd already broken stride anticipating that the pass would be underthrown, only to have it sail 7 yards over his head.
Does anyone else hate the well Butch's players are still on the roster excuse that people throw out? It's the responsibility of the head coach to get everyone to buy in and not just your guys. Their have been plenty of coaches that have come to new programs and won with the previous coaches players and Butch left some talent for Pruitt to work with.
yeah...it was obvious Mullen wanted the UF job.I was told by a connected MSU friend that Stricklen probably didn't want to hire Mullen, and that seems to be the case with Kelly as their first choice. He had to fall back on Mullen since it's who he knew.
Stricklen is from Jackson, MS, has a degree from MSU and married the daughter of one of MSU's best basketball players. I was told that he won't be welcomed back if he hires Dan Mullen. Welp, he did.
the only thing Chaney hasn't had is a qb. i haven't had too many issues with the play calling.I didn't always praise Chaney before he came back, but I think he's done a decent job. The only thing that I want to see is Ty and Gray in the game at the same time and trying to get the ball to Ty without a swing pass.
He has schemed open DWA a couple of times. Our OL play is much better, and he can call straight runs that work. I just think the QB is holding him back.
