Open receivers that the QB cannot connect with suggests this isn't a Chaney problem of creativity.

Fair enough.but I still think his hands are tied because of Pruitt? hindering is creativity on offense.this all changes with a different QB and we are 3-1šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø

Don't put words in my mouth. Our QB play has been horrendous. You're one of the main guys talking about how bad he is and then trot out this statement.

El o el
Lol! Ok bro... You said our roster is terrible except for a few and our QB is bad and you weren’t changing your opinion on the GA state game because of it. This implies that GA State has an equal or better roster. I’m sorry that I want to win and I’m tired of sucking for over a decade and a loss to Georgia state is never acceptable.

We hired him because he was known to be very good at adapting to what skill set players he has and I’ve seen almost the same exact offense run out there this year from the previous year.again his creativity on the offense is being questioned.not the play calling I still think that’s all Pruitt, not Chaney.
If he's calling plays that should work, why is creativity a problem? If our QB could throw accurately and on time, it wouldn't be a problem.

No skill at QB is hindering our other players on O. Only flaw as far as I can tell is that Chaney gets a little pass happy but we knew he had that tendency.

Reading comprehension, bro.

And I've never understood this forum ownership mentality anyway. I post all over the place on VN. FF, RF, PF, the Pub, the Zone...Each forum has its draws.
As do I, but I click and comment on this particular thread more often...just for general observations. Different sort are camping out just to issue the same ad nauseum narratives...over and over. 😓

Only reason I want to go w Cooks in one slot is he plays the bucs. Their d is terrible. Tough calls

Yeah Cooks was in there, ultimately though Thomas is a #1 and Watkins has emerged as the target hog for a pass happy team. 32 targets and 20 receptions, next closest WR has only 12 targets.

Doing a bang-up job changing it. Go fire something.

idk what happened with this site but some ish isn’t working. Swan man says this roster is abysmal and that’s really what the issue is. Not coaches.
Maybe so (hopefully so) but how long do coaches get a pass for lack of development, motivation, etc for an entire team? I'll begrudgingly give them this year, but no way any more. If you haven't made big strides from year 1 to year 3 that is coaching, now way around it.

Not I! I wade into the NBA forum and you can almost audibly hear the groans at the recognition!
I just mean if you catch me in the PF, I'm likely being serious. If you catch me in the Zone, I'm most likely not. Every other forum tends to be somewhere in between, lol.

Offensively we've had bad QB play. It's not the OCs fault, it's not the WRs, it's not the RBs, it's not the OL....it's been poor execution at QB. So that comes down to JG. He's a 4 year starter, and I'm sure he looks/talks the part better than the other guys on the team. But it's time for a change...I'm sure the staff wanted a blow out against GA State so they could get game reps for the backups then, their only first real shot to watch the other QBs in live action was UTC. He made the right move sitting JG at Florida, but he miscalculated the impact. That's a mistake I hope Pruitt doesn't repeat, and honestly had he watched the Ga Tech game he would have known JG wasn't likely to respond to being benched.

Defensively it's been more of a mess. Youth, play calling, unprepared....confusion. Really hasn't looked great in any showing yet. The youth is figuring it out, but we need to see play calling/gameplanning/adjusting to improve still...that's on the new (first time DC) and HC there.

Lace 'em up and figure things out before Georgia so you're better prepare for that Miss State game. Cause you really could ease some minds if you play Georgia solid and beat MSU and USC in this next stretch of games.

Not sure that it's an ownership mentality as much as it is a baseball rule mentality. I think most of us post in other places on here, but I'm not going to roll up into a thread that has a certain standard and start pissing all over the place because 'I can'. But that's just me...

Watching Jeremy speak, I don't see or hear a coach who is overwhelmed or beaten down. Yeah, he seems a little surprised at the current results just like the rest of us, but I still see an optimistic, workman like attitude. As long as he retains that throughout what is sure to be a difficult stretch of games ahead, he's got my support. It may not work out in the end, but if he can pass that mindset over to this team, at the absolute worst the next coach will have a great foundation to work with.

I think one of the problems with Chaney is people wanted and expected to get the Georgia Chaney not the Arkansas Chaney.

At the risk of offending Charger, who I like, I viewed the Chaney hire as I guess okay. I’ve always thought Chaney was too transparent and predictable but that’s just me. I thought Chaney would likely be an upgrade but not someone I would get excited about.

Chaney was at Arkansas in 2013 and 2014. His offense averaged 16.9 points per game against conference opponents in 2013 and improved to 20.6 points per game against SEC teams in 2014. The razorbacks were winless against SEC opponents in 2013 and won 2 SEC games in 2014. Chaney probably can't work miracles, at least not in the SEC.

Why consider Arkansas and not his time at Georgia. One NFL scout put it this way. We are so far behind Georgia talent-wise that if we look up ahead far into the distance we can just barely make out the color of their jerseys. By the way I think they’re red but don’t quote me on that. If we want Chaney to put up the sort of numbers he did at Georgia we’re going to have the get a hell of a lot closer to the talent level he eventually had to work with when he was there. His success is predicated on having guys that are good enough to win most of their matchups on the merits of their own talent not anything special he has to offer as a coach. jmo.

Well yea i mean i think you can look at both parts of it. Georgia isn’t hurting too bad without him and i never understood the superlative of ā€œlook at the rushing attack he had at Georgiaā€. He had Sony, Chubb, and gurley. Of course he ran the Ball well. I will give Chaney credit on helping out our OL. They are much better.

I’ll be the first to admit it, i was wrong on Helton. I thought he did an ok job last year minus his last two games, when i think he was checked out for WKu and was over Pruitt. But he obviously did a very good job of hiding JG, with a less talented OL.

You’re taking a handful of plays over the vast majority of games. Every team has missed opportunities. Ours are just ultra magnified right now bc were not doing anything else.

I think you have me confused with Ape.

Anyone who knows Ape will get this joke.

I would say it's more than a "handful of plays". Have we been watching the same games?
