Barry Odom?Y'all are going to think I'm crazy but hear me out.
So first things first. We very likely are going to have to wait a few more years til we fire Pruitt. He is in over his head and will never get it done here.
Our next coach will have to be someone that is an experienced head coach. That's the first requirement.
After 15 years of bad coaches, we will need to make a home run hire. Someone like Urban. But we all know we will not do that.
Therefore, we will be searching for the low-mid tier guys. We will be so hungry for a bowl appearance that we will decide an average guy that we know can win 6-7 games a year will do.
Personally, I think a realistic hire would be someone like Barry Odom. He has improved every year he has been at Missouri. If you look at the recruiting classes they have had over the past several years and then look at all the close games they've been in, it could be argued they are a few talented guys away from being pretty good. He could recruit some of those higher ranked guys at Tennessee. Oh and he knows how to beat Florida.
I have always LOVED Missouri's offense. I think the scheme is a great equalizer when you don't play with a lot of talent. Missouri also often has a very good DL, something we haven't had in several years.
Let's be real. We won't hire the big names we really want. So I believe pairing that offense, that coach, and a proven DC can be good enough to be our next move.
Barry Odom 2021
The fact is we haven't seen any progress as a team. If we had lost a ton, I would understand. But this was the perfect storm of going from year 1 to year 2 with a ton of returning players. Should have seen some progress and yet we are worse as a team. 2018 UT at least beats Ga St. Probably BYU. Only lost to FL due to a huge TO margin. This team got beat in almost every way and was only -1 in TO margin.
JG, AT, DT & MC have had less production.

This reads like a lost lover PSA. LollllI met one of you lovely people in Florence, AL on Sundee. Didn't catch what your name was on the page.
If you see this, let me know!
There are some here suggesting that Pruitt and staff have caused the roster to "regress". This proves my point that the roster has not regressed.
As a Bengals fan, dont bet on the Bengals playing on a prime time game against the Steelers. Bengals will get beat down. Mason Rudolph can only thrown short screen passes, but lucky for him the Bengals tackle worst than a highschool team.my ticket this week:
BYU -2.5 vs Toledo
North Texas -7.5 vs Houston
Ohio St -18.5 vs Nebraska
Patriots -7.5 vs Buffalo
Bengals +4 vs Pittsburgh
Chargers -16.5 vs Miami
I was 4-2 last week
What I mean is that people are linking their hopes for the coaching staff - and this class as a whole - to one player.Cept Bailey’s been committed to for almost a calendar year while JJP wasn’t a possibility until December and an actual commit until the January All American game.
A good to great quarterback elevates the program. Can’t argue the same for a linebacker. And you diminish the fanbase on this board with that post imo. We’re smarter than that...we just want a hopeful focal point. What I mean is that people are linking their hopes for the coaching staff - and this class as a whole - to one player.
1) we’ll see if HB stays committed through this
2) while I’m confident he’s a good prospect, he is not a sure thing like everyone wants to think he is. See: Guarantano, Jarrett
