Y'all are going to think I'm crazy but hear me out.

So first things first. We very likely are going to have to wait a few more years til we fire Pruitt. He is in over his head and will never get it done here.

Our next coach will have to be someone that is an experienced head coach. That's the first requirement.

After 15 years of bad coaches, we will need to make a home run hire. Someone like Urban. But we all know we will not do that.

Therefore, we will be searching for the low-mid tier guys. We will be so hungry for a bowl appearance that we will decide an average guy that we know can win 6-7 games a year will do.

Personally, I think a realistic hire would be someone like Barry Odom. He has improved every year he has been at Missouri. If you look at the recruiting classes they have had over the past several years and then look at all the close games they've been in, it could be argued they are a few talented guys away from being pretty good. He could recruit some of those higher ranked guys at Tennessee. Oh and he knows how to beat Florida.

I have always LOVED Missouri's offense. I think the scheme is a great equalizer when you don't play with a lot of talent. Missouri also often has a very good DL, something we haven't had in several years.

Let's be real. We won't hire the big names we really want. So I believe pairing that offense, that coach, and a proven DC can be good enough to be our next move.

I'm gonna go ahead and drop a veto on this one.

We're going 1-11, aren't we? If we are 1-7 going into the UAB game (and, please, somebody, anybody, explain to me how that won't be the case) we won't have three guys on either side of the ball that give a sh!t about it anymore. And UAB will, rightfully, have every reason to believe they can win the game.

Man, I've got to figure something out.

Tennessee is currently 106th in the country in total offense and 14th in The SEC. In total defense we are 45th in the country and 8th in the SEC.

On offense we are scoring 26 points a game (tied for 91st in the country and 12th in the SEC) and averaging 355.3 yards per game with 200.8 being passing yards and 154.5 being rushing. We are 97th in passing offense(12th in the SEC) and 76th in rushing offense (9th in the SEC).

On defense we are giving up 25.3 (tied 62nd in the country and 10th in the SEC) points a game and giving up 339.8 yards a game with 190 being passing yards and 149.8 being rushing yards. We are 37th in passing defense (4th in the SEC) and 71st in rushing defense (11th in the SEC).

I hate that people are already talking about another coach, I hope Pruitt works out. However, that’s not looking likely. So I’ll chime in, if Pruitt were to be fired you have to call Meyer, Petersen, and Stoops just for due diligence (no way they pick up the phone). Next I’d see if CUT would take the job (probably wouldn’t). Then I’d see if Matt Rhule would take it yes Matt Rhule. He took Baylor from 1-11 to 6-6 and they have started 3-0 this year. Gosh I hate talking about this and we are screwed.

That's no cheap knockoff; that's the same sportcoat -- in cashmere.

I feel bad for @Catbone. He had perhaps the best Eeyore game in the country. But events have overtaken him. It's like he shows up and half the room are FF and quasi-trolls wearing cheap knockoffs of his plaid sport coat. ☹️

Stay off the man's lawn!

Oh didn't realize it was his alma mater NVM. Guess we will need to look at some FCS schools.
If we're okay with Urban, we have to be okay with Hugh Freeze. Took Ole Miss as high as they'll ever go and was beating Saban in the process of it all. Also, I think he'd lock Memphis down. Have ATLVol keep him fed with burner cells and lets ride.

Juniors: J. Palmer, T. Chandler, T. Jordan, S. Shamburger, D. Johnson, S. Reid, W. Ignont, T. Jackson, S. Williams, R. Locklear, L. Bumphus, M. Butler, D. Middleton

Out of this list of Juniors, who has regressed?

T. Jordan - Lost carries with emergence of Eric Gray
D. Johnson - played sparingly this season in mop up duty
S. Reid - played sparingly this season in mop up duty
T. Jackson - Has improved this season
R. Locklear - played sparingly this season
S. Williams - first year in program. - played sparingly this season
L. Bumphus - has improved this season
W. Ignont - played out of necessity first 3 games, regressed.
M. Butler - played sparingly this season
D. Middleton - first year in program starter on D-line
S. Shamburger - Starter at Star position - has improved this season.
J. Palmer - Worse stats, may be due to QB play
T. Chandler - Good stats, despite offense struggling.
I don't think I would say any of these players have "regressed" since you have to be pretty productive in the past to regress.

Palmer and Chandler are the only 2 from that list that were previously productive and they are about the same now.

D. Johnson, Ignont, and Locklear are about the same. All 3 have been part time starters this year but need to be better to keep getting playing time.

I think Jackson, Bumphus, Butler and Shamburger have all improved and are getting much more playing time this year.

Reid has also improved from last year but not enough to be productive in SEC games.

JG is the junior that has "regressed" and he is the main reason we are 1-3 instead of 3-1.

Missouri is currently 6th in the country in total defense and and 1st in The SEC

If that stays that way they will win 8/9 games

Their qb isn’t good enough to win the east though. I watched all that game last week and dang I didn’t realize how inaccurate he is. Just not a good passer
