Like many here I've hired and fired people and one thing I learned the hard way is once u have determined a mistake was made on a hire, rectify immediately.
It does neither party any good to delay the act..
I took over a district that was failing...after about a month, I'd identified the staff I needed to replace and moved forward to do that. There were 3 (out of about 21) that I thought could be salvaged. I spent a lot of time, energy, and focus on them because of their experience & skills - which meant that the ones that were doing things right and working in a positive way, I shorted. Once I finally realized this, I let the last 3 go. It was a bit rocky for a while because the new people had to lean on each other and their supervisors but within 2 weeks, you could see the difference in the attitudes and energy level. Lesson learned for me.

We are far from Vandy level. Top ten in wins. Most SEC championships except for Bama. Multiple NCs. Just because we are down does not mean we are a bad program. We have been run poorly and made bad hires. Period. The sooner our administration accepts that we should be a top tier program again like the fans do, the better.
That’s what we were. All of that was destroyed. Same thing happened before majors. Took him years to fix it and it’s going to take Pruitt years too

FYI to all the Bill Dance fans out there or just fishermen in general. These hats along with the classic all mesh TN variety are available on the Bill Dance Outdoors website. I followed a link through Facebook to get to them. Mr. Dance will sign along with a personalization(if desired) at no extra charge. Pretty cool gift idea for oneself, a friend, or family member. Anyways let's carry on with the musings of what looks to be another football season in the doldrums.

PFF summary

Top 3 Offensive grades:
Smith, Kennedy, Morris

Bottom
Wood Anderson and wright with the worst

Top 3 Defense
Theo, Butler, D Taylor

Bottom 3
Henry T, Bituli, Thompson

Thompson was 8/9 when targeted. 6 first downs

Is this the system that told us what a great underrated QB we had in Guarantano over the offseason?

He can save a year and play at a juco next year and be a soph when he goes to the next D1

Or graduate from a juco and play next year

So yea this rule makes him consider leaving after 4 games

Hopefully there will come a point where we can force them to stay until they get a degree. That will happen right after we force coaches to stay through their contract.

Yes he’s a senior so he played 4 games and bailed so he can play a 5th somewhere else. Travesty
“Travesty” ? In what way? You came up with your own theory and see an instance where it’s kind of / sort of / not necessarily / but maybe the case, and you claim “proof” and start calling people out.

The kid is a senior. Wants to play the game he loves one more year at a school that will give him a better chance to succeed. Yeah...sounds like a real “travesty.”

Im fine with them leaving after a season but if they leave during I hate that the same why I hated The old ball coach when he left

No chance Pruitt is as good of a recruiter as he is and has been throughout his career if he’s such a “poor people person.” Recruiting is literally all about being good at building relationships. I also don’t think he compiles the staff the way he did if he’s a poor people person.

No idea if he’s a big micromanager.

I guess LWS was wrong. Unfortunately, he appears to have over-estimated our capabilities when he said we were a 5-7 team, at best. I am not going to laugh at him ever again.
Well, he did say 5-7 was the best we could be. That leaves a lot of numbers under 5 wins. I'd say he's been pretty spot on.
