How is 4 wins improvement from the 5 last year with a harder schedule?

It's not improvement on last year. It would be 'improvement' on the start of this season as the season progressed. similar to how we used to end the season with kentucky and vanderbilt wins, after a brutal october, and could tell ourselves, ok, at least we finished strong.

I realistically think 3-9 will be the final record. Somehow we'll get a win over Vandy, UK, MSU, or USC.

Unless we get MUCH MUCH better I only see 1 win this year

We do not beat Vandy, UK, UAB. MSU, or USC the way we are now

I see 4-8, but 6-6 is doable by winning 2 of these 3 (Kentucky, Mizzou, Miss State).

Hang in there y’all, season is not over.

Pity from a former rival is just another sign of the spiraling death of our once proud program.

The problem is... ALL the teams left have a coaching advantage over us. MOST have a talent advantage as well. So... this year doesn't end well barring some type of miracle from the Football Gods.

From what I have seen in the last 10 years, the football gods hate us even more then ESPN.

bump. This thread is one to follow. he's got the first four of his predictions spot on, and at the time, was being laughed at. No, we wont win out, but just wanted to give props
And we got your 1 of missstate and scjr. So which remainder our we winning now? UAB, KY, or Vandy?

It's looking a lot more plausible to win out. Mizzou has fallen apart with back to back losses to Vandy and KY jelly. Just hope they don't get theirs issues fixed before we play them.
I say UT wins out if they continue to play like they have over the last three games. CJP just needs to make sure they don't go flat.

Between us getting better and those last three teams trying to one up each other in suckitude... Starting to look like it could happen.

All its gonna take to win out is consistency. SC was the best team remaining on our schedule and we win by 20. If we play like we played that game, every remaining game, we can absolutely win out.

yeah, it's the same thing I say every single year. Sure, we may even be favored in each of the last 4 games. But think about it like free throws.
You got a 80% shooter at the line. every time he shoots, he is likely going to make it. You give him 4 shots tho, and he will likely miss at least one, even tho he's favored in all the shots.
It worked out for me a few weeks ago when the opposite was true. people on here were claiming we may just win 1 game the rest of the year and finish 1-11. I said, nope, statistically, even if we're big underdogs, we are going to pick off a few teams we shouldnt.

So yeah, it takes consistency, but it also takes a bit of statistical 'luck' to go on a streak. could happen

That's one way to look at it. But I've never seen a coach lose a game and say it was because they were due one statistically.

We didn't come out and shock South Carolina in some statistical anamoly. It was obvious we were the better team.

And on a side note I think the probabilistic approach in general to football isn't great. The last 500 free throw attempts are a good predictor of the next one. In a football game... Not so much. There's a reason statistic based betting models have notoriously sucked at predicting football games to this point.

I think if we win out we finish 3rd in the East and possibly 5th or sixth overall in the SEC. That's a much better year than was expected by many.
