I don't know if we use search firms. Seems like I remember some boosters that had Pruitt as their #1 guy.

Just disagree, you can't fire him during the season of course. Maybe you give him 1 more year. I don't see doing the same thing as we did with dooley and jones beneficial at all.

we've been told NO a lot. and the reason for htat is in large part because of all the failings our admin has had in this regard.

we really are in the unfortunate position of not having a choice in terms of keeping Pruitt for the time being.

i don't see any way we fire him this year and make a "great" hire in turn. i think we run the very real risk of being told no by several candidates and being forced to settle for yet another project or "who dat?".

we still have interims at key leadership positions and Fulmer is not supposed to be the AD long term. he's a bridge....that's it. we're not even a full 24 months removed from a coup de tat............

and not to mention the booster/donor situation that is still pretty dysfunctional.

none of that says "yep, they're about to hire a home run".

and i've already gone over the more immeidate football issues regarding the roster, recruiting and locker room culture issues that would likely exist.

there's only one reason to fire him, and that's the record.....there are MANY reasons to keep him despite it.

Consider where we were in 1999...and what we’ve become in 2019.

The level of complete institutional incompetence required for such a precipitous decline is difficult to comprehend. We’ve gone from National Championship program to Rutgers. It’s unreal.

True, I admit I have fallen to depths I didn't think was possible. 99% of the time prior the Ga St game I was always a pumper but that game changed everything for me and I can't recover.
Everyone likes to say with a different qb we are 3 and 1, maybe so but that doesn't get me over Ga St..

Not Sherrer. He's done a great job with special teams. The others, who knows. But i'd bet a bunch of VN points that someone takes the hit for this season other than Pruitt.

That is exactly how they are lined up bar a few times here and there they flip. Bituli is setting the run fits at Mike.

The Nickel package is a 4/3 concept and again we basically live out of that package. We are not lining up in a true 3/4 all that often.

Not sure what play you are referring to, but Taylor was likely in some kind of drop zone coverage to allow the blitz to get home from the weakside. The D is not great but they are also not the total problem. If we had another pass rushing threat and a capable S it would look a lot better.

We need a big get from the transfer portal. Jalen hurts or Justin fields level get. Change the whole feel of the program overnight. Us losing on those 2 and Kelly Bryant has been huge

It’s kinda academic. The two have interchangeable roles. When Toto struggles...he should. He’s our best option paired with Bituli. No one else is close. That Bituli is just now playing full go stunted their chemistry somewhat and Toto not being an EE was already a hindrance. Health permitted, the two should be lights out by the end of this (Bituli’s last) season.

This defensive scheme is working out just like the game against Ga. St.
Go basic 4/3 now...implement it during this bye week...
Fans can accept a lot but when they see players still not knowing who to cover or what to do its a nightmare...Opposing coaches grinning ear to ear
If we do that and put BM or Shrout in I think we play a much much better game against Ga...

even some underdeveloped players will still have "IT". TO ME, the basics of football is hitting, throwing, catching, and running. If you are on defense, hit the person with the ball. If you have the ball, you don't know who to throw it to, throw it to the person that is open. If you don't know the right route get open and catch the ball. If you have the ball, run and don't get tackled. None of the "underdeveloped" guys can seem to do the basic stuff.

There's no way a proven QB at that level would come play here right now. If that's what you're resting your hope in, go ahead and abandon hope.

I think our only hope is that Pruitt is sucking because he's new at this, and maybe he'll settle into the role. I think too many more games like these first 3 losses will make that impossible though. Bailey isn't coming to a 4 win team IMO

i just go back to Butch and Dobbs. we very well coulda/shoulda/woulda lost several games, including App St if not for Dobbs being our QB. in fact, i'd say CBJ got at least an additional year because of Dobbs.

QB is important. ask Pruitt and ask Jones.

QB play has been atrocious, defense hasn't been great either. I've been waiting for the O line to show up one of these years, while I see a slight improvement I wonder why it's so hard to coach blocking.

I'm thrilled for Jalen Hurt....Okla is going to be right there at the end of the season because of him....he helped himself tremendously

Understandable. That's absolutely one that JG shouldn't have had to win.
Should have been able to play defense, kick field goals and use backup QBs to win that game.

I just step away often. Had family day yesterday and used part of it to scroll through rescue dogs that we're going to adopt in the next couple of weeks. Realign so to speak.
