QB is a big problem, but not the only one. This Jeremy Pruitt defense is not a good one. To be 3-1 it would have to be an offense that's goal is hanging 100 points on an opponent. That's not our offense.Has anybody else watched Nebraska QB, Adrian Martinez ball out and think, "man, he would be our starting QB, right now if Pruitt could have hung on to him and UT would probably be, at the least 3-1, right now" ?
No, but he may be willing to negotiate a lower buyout. He should be able to get a very good coordinator job offsetting the buyout too. I don't see him as the quitter type so I don't really see that happening. I do think he ultimately fails here but it won't be this year. Maybe next year. It all boils down to recruiting. If he holds this class together and adds to it with decent players, he's still got a chance. If the recruiting falls off, a bunch of decommitments, especially the flagship recruits, we'll be witnessing the beginning of the end. All imo.Ive had that thought to but where does he go. No way he just steps down and leaves his buyout behind.
I just can't bring myself to believe we'll see that big of a turn around. The team has to reinvent itself. The players have to pick themselves up off the mat and the coaches have to find their best players and put them in the position to win games. Find leaders, fix the QB situation, stop the constant shuffling and let guys learn how to line up and play their position. Play with discipline, get better each game and be mentally tough. Be competitive in losses and find ways to win games against teams that aren't much better than we are.
The team that has played the first four games is probably going 2-10 or 1-11. Stop being that team.
Timing early on was a big thing... And to me that was just about being indecisive about what you want this program to be.... And being forced to settle for what we got ultimately.
To do that Pruitt is going to have to bench some of the upper classman. Warrior has talent, but in limited action Theo has looked better. Keep the young guys together on the o line. Throw Mauer into the fire and let him learn on the job. Lets see if he has the gall to do thatThe team has to reinvent itself. Not challenging. Literally asking how you know this or is it an educated guess based on the assumption of what Fulmer will do
I've made it clear that no, I think it's another failed experiment. I hate it too. Unlike Butch, I like coach Pruitt. I just think it's another situation that he wasn't ready for this job. He was doomed from the start. I desperately hope I'm wrong because if he makes it, the rebuild is quicker. If he fails it will be another 5 years before we're relevant, and that's assuming we hire the right guy the next time. My confidence in that is very low too.Not this year, but does anybody have the confidence that Pruitt will be able to make it happen next year.
I think that's probably right. Fulmer was thrust into a bad situation.I think the whole Pruitt is Fulmer's guy thing is over blown. I believe if Fulmer would have been in charge the whole time during the last coaching search then someone else would be our head coach right now. I believe Pruitt would have been way down Fulmer's list.
I think with the right coach it doesn't take 5 year. Maybe that long to be AL, Uga and be NC ready, but I think getting a winner at HC we could be going 8-4 in two years.I've made it clear that no, I think it's another failed experiment. I hate it too.
