There’s one thing that I’ve been thinking about that we haven’t really discussed here. The new board. I watched Fulmer’s presentation to the board I think a few months ago now and no way do I think he prepared them for what we’re seeing right now. I did think he was trying to set the bar sort of low but there’s no way our current performance comes anywhere close to the expectations he presented.

I know the board shuffle was orchestrated by the Haslams. What I don’t know is whether or not the Haslams will try to make a move in our current circumstances.

I was thinking about Ed Orgeron’s path to success at LSU. He had 3 seasons at Ole Miss where he won 10 games and lost 25 (3-21 in conference play). Then he took over for the fired Kiffin and went 6-2 as the interim HC at USC. He took over for Les Miles at LSU and finished that season with a 6-2 record. The next year he went 9-4 then last year 10-3 and is sitting at 4-0 so far this year. He said his first gig at Ole Miss he was a micromanager, my words not his. He said he learned a lot from that experience and apparently now hires good people and lets them do their jobs.

Derek Dooley said he learned a lot about himself and the job in looking back on his experience at Tennessee. Lane has said similar things. Butch appears to still be a bit vindictive. Pruitt is in his first job as a head coach and if history is any guide, he may not really learn the things he needs to learn until after we fire him and only then if he chooses not to be vindictive. jmo.
I've thought the same thing. We'll fire Pruitt at some point abd he'll then go on to be successful somewhere else thanking ut for all the lessons learned.

The most concerning issue to me is the regression of the entire team. They are making mistakes that most JR high teams are working on. Whether it’s Butch’s boys or Pruitts boys doesn’t matter, they are all sucking. The exception are the actual freshmen and I’m beginning to think it’s because they haven’t been here long enough to get confused. I don’t want to fire Pruitt this year or even next but this is bigger than who’s buying in and who’s not. Something is getting lost in translation.
Also...those freshman are playing great...it's a big boy that can play as a freshman as a linemen or defensive back in the SEC....opposing coaches are going to add notches to their trophy cases taking them apart...

Best thing to come out of the whoopin we took yesterday: BM will be playing more.

Going forward the offense will have to run the qb to have any shot at 6-6.

Why not call out kids individually? You’re calling out entire classes.....

So why not do the ones who are playing hard from them to be known.

It’s clear that if they all had the want to of 73, 15, 35 etc the team would be on much better footing.

Signing off to go tee it up and enjoy my day. Hope you do the same!

Hope. Guys like Crouch, Harrison, Toto, Burrell, Taylor, Flowers, Gray and so on. See improvement from those guys so their ready to go game 1 next season. We don’t need to hear that they’re still learning at this point next year. Throw them in now and let’s go.
This all day long....lets do it

I hope that Pruitt shifts into development mode and sits those that are not on board. Regardless of the outcome of the game, get the newcomers some valuable reps so they'll be ready for next year. Focus efforts on recruiting. It's going to be a monumental task to get a top 10 class. A top 15 will be an excellent achievement. Focus solely on 2020 for recruiting and the 2020 season. This season is over, may as well make the best of it.

I think that’s a great question. You see someone like Taylor who played quite well as a freshman, and he’s not anywhere close to that level now.

And with what was happening on offense, Dooley probably would have been here long enough for Butch to never have been hired.
"IF" he hired a real DC.

The problem with either buying time is, there was other issues hurting us behind the scenes.
Culture, ruining relationships, etc..

Problem is, I think they’ve been in development mode for 16 games. They’ve prioritized “learn my scheme” and the speed bumps that go along with it instead of “we’ll do what the players do best.”

Firing people is not UT's Achilles heel. For the most part, the people who were fired either weren't doing their job or weren't right for the job, and replacing them should have been good for the university and the program. Bad timing and hiring bad replacements-- that's the root cause of UT's continual decline. Making the same mistakes over and over and over and over and over again led us to where we are.

I think you roll with BM the next two weeks and you tell the team we’re gonna give BM the whole Georgia game. Build around BM’s strengths and get the play-calling on par with his style of play and see what happens. He needs a whole game to show what he’s capable of and I think what he showed yesterday in spot time earned him a chance at starting vs Georgia.
Well, some here wouldn’t even take Urban because “he’s a douche” 🙄
