I think, if Pruitt is not the answer, our best option is to have Fulmer coach for 5-6 years and, during that time, have someone ready to promote after hes done. Best way to stabilize the program in my opinion.

If Fulmer were to come back (which I doubt happens), he better hire two good coordinators instead of believing he can run the offense. Keep Chaney or hire Freeze from the hospital.

I dont doubt it at all. I believe Fulmer is in the position he is now because he knows hes the failsafe if things go bad with Pruitt.

Can we all agree that DWA has been a bust? I don't know in what realm he looks like an NFL guy. He looks slow and stiff and I am not sure he's ever broken a tackle.

To sum it up he said, patience by all from Tennessee and play the young players. He needs to be able to sell stability to recruits and have assurance from AD his job is stable and be able to develop and recruit.

I don’t think Pruitt will win here, but inexplicably, this is probably the best move. Otherwise it will be another Dooley-like hire as we shop the bargain bin.

This dude needs a chance to prove us wrong and grow into a head coach

Y’all really need to read this. Some hard truth on players and more specifically veterans and Jones recruits. Well done

Oof!

"Some of Guarantano’s throws Saturday were some of the worst throws I’ve ever seen from an SEC quarterback. Several players were absolutely wide open within 15 yards of him, and he missed them. I can’t explain that."

Main switches I want to see personnel wise two weeks from now:

- Theo Jackson and anyone other than Warrior as the starting safeties

- Maurer or Shrout at QB

- KG Jr starting at CB opposite Bryce

Those three things will be big indicators for me on whether or not this staff is committed to trying to win

On a side note I did have a bright spot today. We moved to Chattanooga recently and my 8 y/o daughter played in her first soccer game with her new team today. Played the whole game. They lost but she scored two goals. Proud of her. Also proud that she was as upset as I was with the Vols game today.

I just don’t see any scenario outside some scandal where he’s gone this year.

Ftr if there’s some type of scandal where he’s cheating he’s pretty bad at it.

Guarantano was flagged for delay of game to start the quarter. The Vols had a three-minute stoppage of play before going to the line of scrimmage to start that quarter, and they still couldn’t get a play off in time. On literally the next snap, Tennessee offensive coordinator Jim Chaney made essentially a perfect play call that created confusion on the back end of Florida’s defense and led to senior tight end Dominick Wood-Anderson running free with absolutely no one within 10 yards of him. He could have caught the ball, stopped, tied his shoes and still had a chance to score an 83-yard touchdown that would have put the Vols an extra-point away from tying the score and silencing The Swamp.

And … Guarantano overthrew him by a wide margin.

I think I may be a lot older than most here and I was listening to Troy Fleming on the post-game show (radio) and he said it didn't matter if it took 15 years he'll still be there every week and of course I'm nodding my head in agreement just like so many of the rest of our fans. Then it hit me. You know I don't honestly know that I'll be around in 15 years and if I am will I even know my own name?

We only ran the ball 9 times in the first half. We only had 24 plays in the first half but still. I was surprised we weren’t bringing pressure on Trask from the outset. We were using 3 and 4 man rushes. Really? Has that been working for us this year and I just missed it? I’m not sure what’s going on in the secondary but we were apparently trying to play zone coverage a lot of the time and it was like Mullen knew when we would be in zone because in zone we’d leave the middle of the field open just about every time. Pruitt suggested that we didn’t bring a lot of blitz packages early on because he didn’t trust the guys in the back end. He didn’t actually say he didn’t trust them. That was just my take on what he did say. He took responsibility for a couple calls on defense that hurt us. He said he suggested those calls to DA.

I may be wrong but I think our game plan was predicated on our coaches thinking we couldn’t run the football against Florida’s front seven. I mean there were a number of obvious times with penalties when we got so far behind the sticks that maybe we didn’t have an option. Chandler had 6 carries in the first half and Gray had 1. I guess the other 2 were on JG. I don’t know of anyone outside the program that thought we’d have a chance to beat Florida without being able to run the football. We sort of padded our rushing attempts there at the end of the game but play by play suggests running the ball for us today was never really an option, perhaps going in.

Also, can we just eliminate the swing pass to Chandler out of the backfield. Honestly, I don’t think either he or JG have any more confidence in it than I do. jmo.

Troy said he expected JG to transfer out after this year. He said he’s a good player but he has obviously regressed and needs a fresh start somewhere else. That was Troy; that wasn’t me.

I don’t think I’m apathetic and I suspect that at least some of the rest of our fans, that may be claiming to be, aren’t either. I just feel this weird sort of heaviness wearing on me as the course of a game unfolds and I’m not sure but I think that could be happening to a lot of other people. I wonder if that same thing is happening to our players? Maybe even our coaches?

With us as fans, especially when we’re not in our stadium, I’m not sure there’s anything we can do. Absent our fans, like when we’re at home, I not sure we have all that much leadership on our team or on the sidelines. jmo. We have a lot of guys who say we have good leadership but I don’t see it and I think it’s painfully obvious that at least to this point JG doesn’t have the makeup to put this team on his back. Josh Dobbs could do that. I don’t think JG can. I think the reality of that “responsibility” hurts him more than it helps him. jmo.

Finally, let’s hope our young 4th grader down there in Florida with the cool T-shirt design doesn’t have to endure a lot more taunting/bullying this week.
