We are gonna see this take a hit on recruiting. This is just bad. What is Pruitt gonna say on the trail? Come start immediately? We might win 6 next year? Yikes

It’s surreal how qucikly and completely this season has unraveled.

It’s crazy how quickly and completely the wheels came off the Jeremy Pruitt experiment.

We’ll see if he can get something sparked in the last 1/3 of the season. Something to believe in.

He looks to be pretty much done though. Already. Crazy.

For a team that has been through several coaching searches, you would think we would luck up and back into a guy that is successful.

Everyone is emotional and I understand it. But look at our roster. Look at who Pruitt has to play out there. Many of these guys we've mocked for years such as Warrior and JG. And yet we want to fire him because he can win with these guys? Makes no sense.

Again, any coach who sees our roster and the talent disparity that we have, and then sees us fire Pruitt after 2 years would laugh when they received a call from Fulmer about taking this job. Not a chance. Pruitt could offer Richt and Meyer 10 mil/per year and they wouldn't take it. And we can't pay that anyway.

Yes I'm just mad. That's why I said I'm not on the fire Pruitt bus yet. But what some of these guys are saying makes sense. We are just in a tough spot. I agree our DL is terrible. But we have talent on this team. Not bama or Georgia talent but talent that should have been 3-0 going into this game. And that same talent could have made this game tighter than 31-3. I've said it a bunch but I'm a newer Vol fan. Moved here in '06 and really became a fan in '10. So I dont know the history like a lot on here do. So dont laugh when I ask this but why wouldn't anyone come here if we fired Pruitt. FL fired shark jumper after two years when he just won the east. We are the laughing stock of CFB. Nationally. Not just in the SEC.

So what's the flip side? Keep CJP and hope he turns it around? We aren't making a bowl game this year. It's going to be very difficult to keep a strong recruiting class together. So what do we do?

Also, I don't buy the observation that the team wasn't bought in. I saw them playing their asses of until very late. We don't have the horses.

Yes, it will be a "rebuild' year, but we should still make the dance. And seeing how Barnes is recruiting in '20 and '21, we should field some elite teams in the coming years. It's night and day between the football and basketball program.

Really liked what I just saw of BM. Kid had speed & has a nice arm. When he hit Johnson I thought he was gone! I say start him and let JG go.

Wishful thinking and them wanting to fire him last year after a good season. A major booster has already said he wants to pay for bob stoops. When he loses to UGA, Bama, and LSU, the heat will kick back up.

We hire coaches. We fire coaches. We bring in top 20 recruiting classes every year. And yet we see nothing but pure, abject ineptness.

It's baffling to me.

I honestly don’t know. But I wouldn’t fire him unless Urban already signed the contract.

Urban would never come here because the job is too hard for him. If he goes somewhere, it will be somewhere with no competition, like USC. He's not going to agree to play Bummers two maybe three times a year, GA, and FL to win a title. Or maybe sub GA twice. Or add LSU. Fans underestimate that we are by far THE single toughest job in America right now. Potential coaches, on the other hand, understand it very well.
