Worst Coach Ever?

Honest question and I may not be aware, but is the season over today? Can you tell me who won the National title this year? Wasn’t aware the season is 4 weeks long

Not sure. But, were still in it for the East mathematically!

Fine let’s compare

Butch Jones: 34-27 (56%)

Derek Dooley: 15-21 (41.7%)

Jeremy Pruitt: 6-10 (37.5%)

Can you tell me which one is the worst?

Once again, comparing former coaches to an active one 16 games into his tenure here. Not exactly equal.

Butch's last season was the worst season in UT history. Are we on our way to worse? Maybe, but it hasn't happened yet.

Butch couldn’t handle expectations. He overachieved in 2015 and then failed big time in 2016 with the second half of the season and then the numerous culture issues.

Dooley simply made one bad staff hire in Sunseri. Had Wilcox not left, he prolly wins 9-10 games in 2012
uhm Butch hired Larry Scott as OC -- worst ever OC and his downfall

Can you please answer the question and tell me who is the worst?

Or wanna make a bet that Pruitt doesn’t beat Butch’s 34-27 record?

When Pruitt is no longer coach here, whenever that may be, then you can compare coaching tenures here.

Until then, I’m not going to sit here and try to use 16 games and a single game to say who the worst coach at Tennessee is.

Trying to cherry pick a single game to label a coach great or horrible is dumb. Because what happens if Pruitt winds up a winner here? What happens if he just goes off the rails and doesn’t win another game this year?

Obviously you don’t know the answer to either question because you don’t know what will happen. And since there is only one active head coach of the Vols, you can compare who’s tenure was the worst with former coaches while including an active coach who is 16 games of his tenure.

It was the worst season. But at a point Butch had us playing quite well. The improvement from 2013 to 2016 was significant. Butch looked like he actually had a game plan - sometimes it was terrible, but sometimes it was pretty good. I have yet to see UT under Pruitt look even remotely close to as competent as a BJ team. The guy had cheesy slogans and what not, but there was a point when he was hauling in top 5 recruiting classes. I've yet to see Pruitt crack a top 10 recruiting class and that was supposed to be one of the two allegedly good things about him, 'cruitin and defense. As of right now, Pruitt can't hold Butch's jock and THAT is effing sad.

You need to go back and watch Butch Jones coached teams, the east was TERRIBLE and we were giving away games with Butch Jones recruited players. It's more of the same, this is not a grass is greener situation. Dooley Butch and Pruitt have all been sub tier hires for an SEC school of UTs caliber. Dooley not head coach material, Butch doesn't belong anywhere near the SEC, and Pruitt literally his first HC gig ever.

I still believe Pruitt is going to coach through contract because Fulmer thinks he can mold this guy into something, or maybe there is a huge disagreement and fallout and it ends quickly. Fulmer and money will make the decision not the fans and not the WL record.
