I feel like you’re trying to convince yourself as much as anyone.
I'm not convinced he'll turn it around or fail. I'm only convinced that we have to see it through. It would be a colossal mistake to fire him any time soon. Like worst mistake in program history bad. Although I'm morbidly curious to see what's the best candidate we could get interest from. We'd have to pull from the high school ranks.

And
The Vols win the toss and defer. Brooks with a touchback and Fl takes the ball. 1st down Trask throws the ball out to his right to set up a WR screen. Henry sniffs it out and stops him for a 2 yard gain.

Looking to establish the run, the Gators hand off to Perine but the Vols defensive front stands strong holding him to no gain.

3rd and 8, Trask looking to pass is pressured by Taylor, he throws up a desperation toss that is intercepted by Theo Jackson who runs it into the end zone. Vols lead 7-0 less than 2 mins into the 1st quarter.
Then you woke up

No. I don't know why you can't see it.
Not to say that we're not underdogs and on the road or that beating his third ranked opponent at this early point is not asking a lot.
Give the guy the chance to get is own guys in the house. He's got one class right now.

The biggest mistake has always been refusing to spend the money it takes to hire a proven head coach.

But here we are, and you’re right, we have to see this through. (Unless we totally bottom out.)

It's the instant gratification society that we've become that has us in this pickle. Not just us fans but the coaches too wanting these big contracts up front. Nothing is earned these days. I think we are going to have to let him earn it before kicking him out. And that means give him 5 or 6 years.

Eh, no reason to see through failure if it comes to that. I think we’ll have a good idea after next year.
