We just have no idea what we are getting in Trask. No clue. Just because he looked okay against soft coverage at KY doesn't mean he'll look great when DT, Henry T, or Crouch is coming after him. He faced 0 pressure Saturday. I don't think that will be the case come this Saturday.

Agreed. I really am not buying any hype on Trask until he lights us up, I'll eat that crow. He hasn't played for a reason.

Also I'm not buying Florida's superior front 7, they ate big in one game. Miami gave up 10 sacks of the 16 the team has amassed in 3 games. Bumphus has nearly identical numbers to Zuniga. And thus far their secondary hasn't shown to be elite. Just 4 picks (3 in one game against UK) and 1 was a hailmary.

Miami gashed 'em on the ground their RB was hitting 8.5 a carry the -43 from the 10 sacks skewed the final box score and Kentucky was doing a fine job as well until they faded.

they might beat us, and they probably will. But they're not a top 10 team. They're not unbeatable. Apart from us crapping the bed this will be a very close and competitive game.

Im not playing in the game. They are, the fan base's opinion of the outcome is what really has no bearing on the outcome, why can't you guys seperate the two?
If you don’t believe in Tinkerbell then she doesn’t exist. Better believe or we won’t win!

So you would take Vols and the points?
I don't gamble, and I don't understand exactly what you're asking me here because of it. I fully expect the Vols to cover. If we lose, I expect it to be another BYU type loss. It'll come late in the 4th. They're not going to blow us out unless we have a repeat performance from last year imo.

I think there's more fire in this team, even if it's just from youthful ignorance. You think Henry T or Jeremy Banks is going to let up in the Swamp? You're crazy, we've gotten a lot faster from last year to this season, something that has surprised me. Most of the defensive woes have been inexperience and poor play calling/game-planning from a brand new DC.

I do agree Florida is the most suspect Top 10 team in the country, and I sure as HELL hope we're the ones that get to be the punch in the mouth to prove it.

why do you think I am at that point? Is it a baseless decision?
Look, I get it. The history and odds aren't in our favor. But, I'll be damned if I'm going to sit up in here and whine about it all week. This year is probably the best year we have to upset them for the foreseeable future. They have a bunch of disadvantages against them this year and I think we capitalize on them, imo.

To be honest..Maurer’s running ability would help us best against Florida.keeping the defense honest and not allowing them to get comfortable loading the box is key.dude is fast and you never know when he will run but when he does he’s gone.

Maybe I'm not thinking this through, but wouldn't a running QB make the box get loaded even more??

I’m in a similar place. After the BYU loss, I invited my mom to come visit this weekend. I’m going to spend Saturday with her and have no plans to watch the game. First time I have ever done something like that. I’m just not going to keep planning my weekends around watching heartbreaking losses. We couldn’t beat Ga St. at home, so I definitely don’t expect us to be able to beat an SEC team on the road—especially an SEC team that has owned us for 30 years. If I I’m wrong and we pull out the upset, I’ll have a great time watching the replay on Sunday after my mom leaves. If I’m right and FL spanks us, I don’t spend all day Saturday fuming over it.

You blitz a DB from one side and the running QB makes him miss you now have 10-15 yards of freedom on that side he blitzed from with the rest of the team likely in man with their backs turned.

at the risk of pressing the triggered button...........................................how is any of that any dissimilar than 2017, 2015, 2014, or even last year? lol.

i'm not buying we lose because of any history at this point, but we did say the same thing last year because of all the suspension, the credit card scandal etc, etc, etc.....

it really is uncanny.

It would be such a shot in the arm of this program and this fan base...with two weeks before Hosting Georgia...if we could somehow...somehow...

Does anyone else see a heavy dose of screens and option plays from Florida? Everyone and their mother knows Pruitt is very aggressive, maybe too aggro according to some (Saban). I think Mullen will try to punish us with screens and he already knows the option has hurt us. I just don't know if Trask can run the option to the same degree as Franks. Hopefully our bullets Bituli and HT can rock the screens. They are both elite at diagnosing plays iyam and are maybe our best finishing tacklers.

yeah, and i think they mix in some real zone read stuff too and let trask run it a bit.

Every Tennessee and Florida game that has been played before this Saturday will have no bearing on the game this Saturday. Who ever wins on Saturday will do so because they're the better team on Saturday. It won't be because of some curse that this fanbase has made up in their head. The main reason the streak got as bad as it did was because our pass coaches didn't recruit up to the level as the Florida coaches did.
Whoa, whoa, whoa.....we choose to operate off pure emotions in here. Please take your logic across the street and peddle it over there. We can't beat UF because....THE PAST says so. Nothing more you need to know.

Total 180 in how the fanbase views this season and Pruitt RN imo. UGA will still beat us, probably handily. Grab Miss St before Bama pummels us and we're fine. 4 losses going into the backstretch reeks of a postseason for us, maybe even 7-5 (still don't like Mizzou, USC, UK games).

Y'all said that stuff. I couldn't care less about a credit card scandal. It takes more than that to press my triggered button. I think we win in 2019, that's all.
