I know there wasn't, and still isn't, much respect for BYU on here for whatever reasons, but they will go through their rough 4 game opener, including 3 ranked opponents, no worse than 2-2. Boise St also remains. The rest is water. They could easily go 9-3, with 10-2, (even 11-1 slightly) on the table. Chance to be of the best BYU teams in recent years.
I was surprised at how many people weren’t impressed with them in the Utah game. I guess the TOs are hard to overlook for some, but that QB showed some talent and the team played tough all the way through. Weren’t there two pick 6s? Pretty much the ball game right there. We still win by 2+ scores if we swap QBs...

Yes, 2 pick 6s. Vs now #9 utah. Play for play, Utah was just ahead by a bit.

The counter to "we win by 14+ with a different qb" hypothetical is the very real possibility byu scores 14 more in the 1st half on our busts. Nothing they did, but man we blew it a few times and were lucky. I just don't think we were a 2 td better team even with a better qb. Maybe later in the season, but not with all the issues we still had/have simply lining up and guarding men in a basic sense.

Met a guy tonight that was getting a tattoo when Earnhardt died. When he got the news he was gone he never left the table and got a #3 tatted on him also that same night. I’m not a tattoo guy, but thought it was a cool story

Earl: “Gonna get a huge “B” on my arm tonight Becky.”

<Goes to Tattoo Parlor>

Earl: “Commence sir”

<Gets the news 10 minutes in, hot tear traces the cheek line>

Earl: “Tell you what Jimmy. You just leave the left side of that tattoo incomplete. We’ve lost a good one tonight.”

Jimmy: “But what about Becky?”

Earl: “Forget Becky. There is only one Dale”

Jimmy: “Umm... ok. I can do that I guess, but what about Dale Juni..”

Earl: Dang it man, just do the work! I’m losing a great man and a fairly good woman tonight”

And the legend was born

I think the primary key to the game this weekend will be the mindset the coaches have/take, and hence the gameplay. It will start with the coin toss. If the Vols win the coin toss, I think the decision to receive or defer will be an indication of the preferred game plan and what the coaches deem as the team's strength for this game. If we take the ball first, then they plan to come out swinging. If they defer, then it will be more conservative and reactionary to what Florida does. I am not sure what the best approach is for this young team...I just trust CJP and staff will have the guys ready! This game is not necessarily a make or break game, but the implications that a win will have are exponentially more than the impacts of a loss. A win, and this team will gain the swagger and fortitude to carry them through the season and will look for them to play lights out. A loss, more of the same and need to develop further. If the Vols can get up early by 9+ points, then CJP can pin the defense's ears back and "release the Kraken!". Either way, GO VOLS!!!

Had a dream last night that Ty housed the second play of the game off left tackle from 70 yards......

Called back because Trey Smith leveled someone on a crack back kind of block. Ejected for targeting too 😂 of course
