You DO NOT have to pay photo tickets u got in the mail in TN. U will get several lawyer letters threatening but thats it. I have gotten several and never paid 1 penny

What happens if they issue a bench warrant for those unpaid tickets and you get pulled over?

I would like to see the actual police report of how it went down. Because it seems to me like KPD went out of their way to arrest him if that’s the case.

To be fair, if someone has a warrant, the officer will arrest him. It’s part of their job.

Some municipal courts issue warrants when defendants don’t appear for traffic tickets or don’t re-appear to pay costs. The reason is that people who live outside that jurisdiction would never pay off the judgment.

They are not from the police. They are not enforceable by law. If u pay them u are throwing your money away

Maybe and maybe that’s the difference. In North Carolina for a traffic violation failure to appear you are one fined more and given a bench warrant. An arrest warrant is very aggressive. Especially for something like driving with a suspended license.

A bench warrant is treated the same as an arrest warrant. A judge can recall the bench warrant if he chooses, but an officer executes a bench warrant by arresting the defendant and bringing them in.

I have a couple of mail in Tickets. I saw somewhere that they can’t legally make you pay for those so I have thrown them in the trash

By statute, they can’t go on your driver’s history. They will not issue a warrant for them. They may send them to collections.

85 game shoulda prepared you. One of our most storied teams and they beat us.

But that team they had in '85 was one of the best that money could buy. Got them put on probation, IIRC.

Never did get the details of what got them on probation. The eventual national champions was BARRY SWITZER’S Oklahoma Sooners fwiw.
