I'm glad he played better but he really didn't prove anything today other than he's our best option right now. I don't know if either backup will be ready to take control this year, but I think both give us things JG just can't. Shrout has much better anticipation and vision. Maurer is far more mobile and has a spark to him. Reminds me a bit of Clausen.

So JG has the edge in experience. Had a nice game but until he does it consistently in SEC play, the clock is ticking.

Disagree. Clocks not ticking because coaches know how good he can be with enough time. Just like Pruitt needs more time.

Yeah, he’s lucky his first throw wasn’t picked. This was an FCS team. He’s supposed to play well against them. We’ll see if he’s as sharp against an SEC defense in FL. Call me skeptical.
