Remember when some of us wanted Les Miles?

Coastal would steamroll UT.
"Steamroll"? Good grief.

"Les would be 2-0 here." But he's not here, and he's not 2-0 where he is. Lol. Amazing.

Funny. Les got beat by Coastal. But if he was here he would be 2-0. But Coastal would Steamroll us. So, we would be better off with Les, unles we played the powerhouse Coastal?

UT talent > Kansas talent..or so I am told. So yes, we would be 2-0 with Miles. Instead, UT barely wins 3 games this year.

Its amazing that people think everything they say is fact.

If Pruitt had Nick Sabans players he'd be 2-0 right now.

But you said you wouldn’t hire Les because he could do it....

Then you acknowledge there are only a handful in the game that are doing it.

Since they are not likely to be picked, you settle on an up and comer who may or may not work out or someone like Les who got fired from a Top 5 job after tons of years there and wants back in coaching. And it’s clear by taking the Kansas job, he has that fire back because you don’t take that job unless you’re 100% motivated to get back to that level in the coaching ranks

Yes, I prefer an unproven guy that might be able to do it versus a guy that has already proven he can't.

Kansas hasn’t won more than 3 games since 2009 when they won 5. Lets not act like Kansas is some sort of power house that should never get beat by a FCS school.

Has a BCS Bowl win/New Year's 6 more recent than UT....

Mack Brown proved he couldn’t do it at Texas. He has more SEC wins than us. Probably finishes the season that way too 😂

Well, he’s doing well with Kansas. Has them 1-1, and currently beating Boston College 41-24 right now and they were 19.5 point underdogs.

I was in the camp of trying to hire Miles. Anyone think our record would be better with him?

And most of this fan base was clamoring for Kelly. He was widely regarded as a "proven, slam dunk hire". How's he doing at UCLA? Look, with coaching and evaluating HS talent/recruiting, there are no sure things. It's been said again and again....it takes time, great recruiting, stability and yes, a little luck to rebuild a program. Some rebuilds are harder than others. Frankly, I can't think of a bigger mess in all of college football than UT at the moment. On top of that, we play in the toughest league in all of college football. The mountain to climb is extremely steep and tall.

We've played musical chairs with coaching for a long time now. It still hasn't worked. The definition of insanity comes to mind. Maybe try something new this time around? Show some patience and let this staff have the time to get better players and turn things around. This year will likely be rock bottom. No sense in playing the coulda, woulda, shoulda game. Chasing our tails IMO. Pointless. Just pop open a cold one and hope for play to play, game to game improvement and seeing a lot more of our youngsters. I'm not counting wins nor am I expecting a bowl game. Just get better and play hard.

He had head coaching experiencing at a major school something we haven't had in a decade. The record reflects our hires and none were that impressive.

Except Les has proven he can so that sorta makes your argument invalid. Unless you’re cherry picking

Problem with hiring Les Miles is that if they were going to do that, they might as well have just given Phil his old job back.

Not really. He’s been out of the game for a decade at that point. No way he was gonna be coach but there was always a legit chance he’d be AD

Les Miles may not be the guy to win us a national title, but I have zero doubt he could have rebuilt this program and then hand the reins over to his replacement. I also have to think he would rather not be in Kansas. I’d take him any day over Meyer.

...Which to me is even crazier than bringing him back as head coach. I don't mean to argue that we should've rehired CPF; just that Miles would've been a retread hire which doesn't usually work.

Les miles would be 0-2 right now with this team. Kansas didn’t have to play juggernauts like BYU and Georgia State. Two completely different schedules so you can’t compare.
Some may think you’re statement is true.. may add some blue to juggernaut. Lol

Is losing to Coastal Carolina (5-7 in 2018) worse than losing to Georgia State (2-10 in 2018)?

No. Nice win for the Mad Hatter last night over a Power 5 team on the road.

one thing is Les has assembled a heck of a staff and the players have totally bought in...the coordinators had a heck of a game plan for BC...they've got a good QB too...like Les, just didn't want him here...glad he landed in a good spot for him...

GO BIG ORANGE...BEAT THE MOCS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was pro Miles once it was clear Mullen was off to Florida and Schiano had been prevented.

Still not upset with Pruitt being hired but Les Miles was my number 1.

Getting fired from your dream job when you’re relatively 5-10 years from being at retirement age (in the coaching industry) easily motivates you to get back to that level.
I bet Kansas doesn't have artificial turf. As long as he is grazing, he is usually winning.

Watched the ESPN+ behind the scenes mini-series on Kansas. Jeff Long talking to his assistant about an agent giving him a list of his clients to talk to. “This one’s not coming here.” was a big player. Lots of repeats before Les Miles popped up. That’s how much in demand he was and many of those pining after him now 3 games into the season wouldn’t be glossing over that tidbit.
