I didn't get to see the game tonight, just the replays but if you are talking about him signaling that he caught the ball and giving up an inside the parker, I wouldn't call that show boating.

For me, it was the glove “flip” after he caught the ball and was bringing it down. Totally unnecessary and that, in my opinion, is what caused him to drop the ball.

I actually thought he had the ball long enough to make it a “catch”. Not sure if that is reviewable or not......

Truly a gifted athlete and a great play. I love his emotion and there is a fine line between show boating and having fun. Based on the way Snit handled him a couple of weeks ago, I trust he knows how to work him.

The glove snatch was the show boating. He will learn. There are plenty of pros on the team who can talk about it to him. He is an amazing talent.

I see. Personally, I dont necessarily think it was all that showy but I can see why some would.

It’s obvious Helton will prove to be a top football mind who hates Tennessee and we will be on our three coaches a decade pattern for the foreseeable future... cause Tennessee

BYU was a very different story. We didnt run it 75 times (might should have tried) but the gameplan was there. Guys blocked well enough. We established the run enough to open up the passing game and make it simple. The WRs were consistently getting separation. Heck even on a terrible throw JJ was able to bail him out to save points. He played poorly in the first half and they were ahead because BYU couldnt catch his poor throws and the defense held them to 3. The game changed when he set up their first and only TD in regulation with a pick.

With decent (not even good) QB play UT wins Saturday by 14 to 17 points.

Agreed, bunch of stalkers. They fear Pruitt and hope our team falls completely apart.
I'm sure I'll see this screenshot and posted over there at some point today.

I've mentioned defense almost as much as QB play. But if you forced me to fix just 1, it's QB.

It's simple math and that's the defense as a whole. Individual player vs individual player, it's not even close.
That said, I prefer "qb play". No intention of bashing anyone personally for choosing TN and being named the starter.

QB is the ultimate bandaid. It hides bad coaches, GMs, rosters etc.

Dobbs was not a great passer early in his career but his mobility made up for it and masked a lot of his diffencies. Then in Junior and Senior year you saw his improvements in the passing game. It was a steady improvement.

With JG, you really don't see any major improvements in his game...and since he is not a running threat like dobbs was...that really makes his mistakes stick out. JG seems like a really great kid and hard worker but he just doesn't have it to be a good quarterback.

Now I don't know if Maurer or Shrout are better than JG or that we would be 2-0 with them at the helm...but I know you have to give them atleast a shot. One of the biggest disappointments to me these first 2 games (besides losing them) is that we should have blown both of them out and Shrout/Maurer should have gotten live in game reps. That's why it is imperative that we blow out UTC because they need experience, because I guarantee we're gonnna need one of them before the season is over.

Obvious duh here but if you put tua , Trevor lawerence, etc on this team then it’s probably a 10 win team.
