People are blaming the qb because he couldn't put a drive together in the 2nd half and the defense was gassed. That's the whole reason lost the game. We had to run the ball at times we wanted to pass because our coaches couldn't trust our QB to make the right throws without turning the ball over.JG is not the reason we lost to Georgia State nor is he the reason we lost to BYU. He has not been good - I’m not going to argue with you that he has - but the Tennessee Volunteers should be able to run the ball right up the middle 75 times and beat Georgia State. He was bad in the BYU game - but we still win if the defense doesn’t let a pass go over their heads or stops BYU’s offense in either overtime period.
People are blaming the QB because it’s easier than blaming the coaching staff. Period.
I’m with giving another QB a shot. But Tennessee should have won both of those games regardless.

The coaches deserve a share of the blame, but as far as players go, an inept QB is always going to take a lot of the heat. It's a natural leadership position on the team. Point out where JG has demonstrated leadership. If JG plays better in those games, we win. One of two players on offense to touch the ball every play, and the center can't do anything with it other than give it to the QB.JG is not the reason we lost to Georgia State nor is he the reason we lost to BYU. And I was on JG's bandwagon until the Ga St game. It was clear that he had regressed in that game.
The only touchdown the defense gave up in regulation was due to JG throwing into triple coverage instead of throwing it to one of two wide open guys on the other side of the field. He had quality protection, his RBs and OL put up over 200 yards rushing, and receivers got open. We held their NFL tight end to two catches. If you just get average QB play in that game, you win by 17+.I agree with what you're saying overall, but there's no way you can logically blame that loss on the QB. In spite of how he played, the game was won, over, W, until the horrible defensive lapses. It's a shared guilt. Putting it all on one person is blatantly unfair.
Anything is possible. The question is will he accept he needs the help or continue to pout? Idk if he has it between the ears to have as much freedom with the plays as he had. Someone said that earlier and I believe they were right. I think it was DevoI agree he’s regressed and yes I was on his bandwagon too. But I havent jumped all the way off yet. I firmly believe he’s our only chance to turn this season around. Now I can’t say I am
Confident he can but I think it’s possible
