What do we do to maximize, best we can, the tenure of JG?

Can we dumb it down and simplify his "route tree" to a designated receiver?

What are the routes and screens that require little to know thought and just release it to a designated runner? Quick slants, RB screens, WR screens?

Will it help? Can we get by on 15-20 a game and win?

Ok I’m throwing my two cents in on JG.
For what it’s worth.
I believe he is shell shocked. Last season he took multiple hits. Per game. Would love to know the number of times he was knocked down, not counting sacks.
Anyways, no one questions his toughness. He gets knocked down but he gets up again. Dude has got a heart and I truly believe he gives his all.
Unfortunately he has been knocked around so much, mentally he is looking to get hit. Even when no hit is coming. Lots of missed passes with a clean pocket protecting him shows this.
He is so used to get knocked down that his thought process is “man covered, dump it off”. 3 second read at most.
I think having him play early in the game Saturday, hopefully get a lead, then let the back up QBs play.
Maybe the game will slow down for him as his mind speeds up with, hate to say, mental reps.
I’ll hang up and listen to your comments.

I agree. 4 years of bad QB coaching has created multiple bad habits.
This is is probably the best coaching his has had since he has been at UT. We all know how great Botch was at developing his players.
Just pray it’s not too late, especially since Coach P said he is the best QB we have currently.
Yikes

I've been thinking the same thing. Dude took some vicious hits last season and kept getting up, even when I didn't think he possibly could. I've seen college and pro QBs over the years who were shell-shocked. When Matthew Stafford was at UGA he rarely got touched. When he got to Detroit the guy was relentlessly assaulted and battered every Sunday.

It has to get in their heads.

The OP has a point. I seen JG with "happy feet" numerous times last Saturday. Could be part of his timing problem also.

He's never been a consistent QB...ever.

Sometimes when you have bad coaching you just have to be Josh ****ing Dobbs. No excuse for JG. He is the worst QB we have had. He makes those bad throws with wide open receivers.

Yeah. Shell shocked+multiple OC’s/QB coaches+getting drilled all last year=JG.

Also I wonder how highly he would’ve been recruited if he marketed himself as a pro-style QB instead of a dual threat QB.
