I disagree. And not because I think Pruitt will fail. But, if a coaching change is made, it's because things are going bad. And if things are going bad enough to make a coaching change, all aspects of the program are more than likely a steaming pile of dog excrement.

I'll admit, I was real worried after Georgia State. But after BYU, i came away real confident for the future. Young guys looked good, play calling was solid and the defense was night and day better than week 1. Sure there were a couple of lapses on D. But it really was on the QB play that we didnt win. I feel like if we had a compitent QB we'd be pretty solid.

Last of Fulmer’s worry.....unfortunately this goes with the territory. We are in a total rebuild.

We ahve the right staff in place, it is just going to take time. Unfortunately, and understandably, some don’t have the stomach for this but this is where we are at.

Enjoy the ride....the small individual victories as the bigger stuff will come.

I seem to remember some posts from the summer after he arrived that contradict the "neither would be world beaters" remark. I am not going to go back and look for them, though.

I see what your saying but let’s say he survives this year and next, let’s say he goes 6-6 7-5 something like that and Fulmer just gets tired of waiting. I would think the roster left behind would be better than the one butch left after going 4-8. But I mean who knows I’m banking on the hope that none of that happens and he is the coach I think he is or can be.

i think he's got a reasonable gripe with pruitt's obsession with secrecy and the lack of access afforded to media, making his job and ability to make a living needlessly harder. i think he's also been the target of VolTwitter's tendency to shoot the messenger and probably isn't super stoked about that when interacting with folks online. i don't know. i've never found him to to be particularly troll-ish, but it just doesn't bother me at all. beyond that, there just aren't many voices that are worth reading, in my opinion.

It's not Pruitt's job to help float a bloated Knoxville sports media market. Some of these mf'ers need to go get a real job rather than writing clickbait.

ha, i wish. i've just always valued his opinion on UT football specifically because he's not just some homer that fell into a writing /podcast gig in his hometown. he's not stuck in the 90's, he doesn't write from a place of nostaglia. He's here covering football for one of the best sports publications going right now on the merit of his writing and researching abilities in what has to be one of the most obsessively rabid markets in sports. its a level of detachment and objectivity that i find more valuable than some of these other writers that can't take the orange-tinted lens off or only write to exploit the enthusiasm of the fanbase because they KNOW the outrageous **** will get them impressions.

Personally I think they are all ready for change.they know that offense has weapons to use if the right QB is in.could you imagine being a player in the film room seeing all of Jg’s Missed wide open players and late throws?..LOL

Fulmer knows how much dead weight is on this roster and that you can't win a gunfight with a water pistol.
