That 2017 recruiting class is killing us. Y'all go back and look at those names... Those are our upperclassmen

Then you've got guys who play some but aren't very good and are passed up already by freshmen and sophomores:

Shannon Reid
Matthew Butler
Tim Jordan
Deandre Johnson
Will Ignot

Ty Chandler, Trey Smith, and Cimaglia are the only really good SEC quality players in that class. There are some other guys who play, but they are guys who shouldn't be on a roster at TN. Unbelievable.

I am sure most teams have 1 or 2 misses, but we have 15-20 misses in 1 class.....that ain't good hoss, no matter how you slice and dice it.

Right, but what I’m saying is I seem to remember that being the case for Dooley’s last class too.

What I’m getting at is I wonder if there’s something about the combination of a coach being on the hot seat that leads to them taking more “project” recruits and as a result of a coaching search those players are less likely to gel with the new head coach due to maybe scheme fit or something.

This is a 5 year rebuild no question. It was stupid of us to get our hopes up for 8 wins this year. This roster isn’t talented or deep enough. This season doesn’t matter to me. We will get a 15-20 recruiting class and keep building up. Excited for more purging.

I don’t think I realized it until I looked back at the 2016/2017 classes. Bout like getting the death penalty.

See, no matter how bad we suck - and how good they are. They will always come to us to seek our approval.

For instance, they could be playing in the SECCG and i can still find ways to talk ****. It's great fun.

I agree they have always had little brother syndrome that’s what makes it so hard to swallow. I nearly lost my mind when UF took the series lead on us now look we aren’t even close in that series. It makes me sick.

Agreed if Pruitt gets another year or 2 I have no doubt he will at the least leave behind a much better roster than the previous 2 regimes did.

I'll just say it. We're 0-2 mostly because of the new DC and losing 4 starters from the 7 returning on that side of the ball.

The most frustrating part of that though is if JG had played closer to the way he played against Auburn or UK we'd be 2-0. Is what it is, defense will continue to improve as the youth gets more experience and 2 of those starters from last year (Bituli & Bryce) make their return.

It reminds of
this whole program reminds me of my best friend in high school. He dated this girl for a few years and they were always good together. Then she started being kinda skanky and she left him.
