Your words, not mine. If you like what you see in Pruitt, lets give him a 50 year extension and roll!
No, your words

At this point, Butch is by far and away a better HC, the win/loss records will show this. We'll likely win no more then 3 games this year tops. If he exceeds, he will have to develop himself into a head coach. Right now he's the worst in the SEC.

Butch had a better 1st 2 years than Majors also and according to you, that's how it's decided.

And nah again, I'm gonna wait and see how it pans out before wanting him forever or whatever this thing you're doing is.

Walker was a 5 star and just got bumped down. It was said in the basketball forum that he plays at Hargrave and doesn't play AAU. That usually results in other guys passing you and not necessarily your ability because the evaluators see more of the others. I still consider Walker a 5 star. Rivals had him at 25 and moved him down 7 spots. He's a top 30 player.
Clearly a great prospect.

100% accurate to say that Tennessee will soon have 3 Top 35 players in the boat.

Pretty impressive haul for Barnes.

Barnes is how you turn around a program. Will definitely take a step back this year but still have some good pieces on the team.
Also a prime example of how it takes time to rebuild a culture, shape and mold the athletes you have, then see success, THEN the recruiting gets easy.

I gotcha. What do you think the solution is then? Letting JG air it out worked a few times but I don't think he's the same QB now. He's too worried about his future and wants to pad his stats and completion %. Ironically him being overly conservative and analytical means he's late on all of his throws, which will probably result in him making worse decisions than if he just trusted his instincts.

From what was reported Pruitt and JG met together Sunday night. So I think he's had this discussions with him. Hopefully, we'll see some changes in his play this week.

So, how long do you give him? This season's done. Is 6-6 good for you next season? When is it enough for you, or any of you? Again, that's not my words. Johnny was most likely the best coach we've had during my lifetime.

Maybe the blasting is just informative. Have you watched the first two games?

Yeah, I really don't understand the sudden Ubben hate. I know he tweeted some off the cuff joke that triggered the Butthurt Brigade but his reporting hasn't changed and he's not bashing the Vols or being unfair. In fact, he still seems kinda hopeful that they'll get it turned around.

I do think though that he seems to have the same basic disdain for CJP that most of the other writers have, based on CJP keeping the press at arm's length. They all seem to feel like he's making their jobs harder. Myself, I don't feel like Pruitt owes the press anything more than he's contractually obligated to, and I'm happy for him to just concentrate on coaching football.

The season so far

I think they are. JG showed he could be efficient and take care of the ball all of last year and suddenly not in these 2 games? Revert back to what worked for him. Simplify things and take the reigns from him. He's doing too much rn and he's playing worse.

I think you may have identified the problem, but not necessarily the solution. I believe Chaney's offense works better when the quarterback can think fast, change the play at the LOS and then quickly analyze what happens after the snap. Eason never got the hang of it, Fromm picked it up much better. I don't know if Guarantano will or won't, but right now he may be dealing with information overload at real game speed, which is hard to replicate in practice because every defense responds differently. Thus the late throws and other miscues.

Jim's a good teacher, so I think he'll wait a few more games before pulling the plug on your starter. If JG can't do it, Chaney may dumb it down but probably for one of the freshmen and then start increasing the complexity again.

This is about the 5th hypothetical/imaginary question I've seen on this. Let me be perfectly clear.

It's one thing to have to live with regret..
But I be damned living with dread.

How about I don't imagine horrible things and just let him have at least 2 full classes and see if it starts turning around?

The ol has improved. Chaney hasn't schemed around it, hes having jg take 7 step PA drops lol. Clearly he has some faith in the ol.

And when asked in camp what could be done to mask the ol, he said you couldn't.

He didn’t throw many deep balls in game one. In fact, people were asking about that. He was feeling out the OL. We also didn’t run the ball 24 times on first down.

Game 2 was more aggressive, but BYU plays a 3 deep zone which favored more deep crosses and posts.
