Yes, but since the play was whistled dead. They should have went back to the previous play time. The Saints didn’t ask for a spot. The crew did it on their own.

Brees actually got a first down and we had a time out. They took 19 seconds for nothing.

Not the coaches' job or focus to get people in seats. It is to win games. They'll make decisions based on that. Why people think they should care about "fan excitement" is beyond me. Winning creates fan excitement, losing does not. Ergo, just win. Losing in a way that creates short term exictement does no one any good, that is Butch mentality creating vacuous hype. If a backup gives us the best chance, then they'll play them, not because fans always want the backup.

My point was to demonstrate that it is the excitement of something new, the unknown that would get the fans in the stands. They have been in the stadium for 2 weeks. The die hards will be there 50-60k. But you may get a bump with a new QB. I agree the coaches should be focused on winning and the best for the program and CJP has decided that JG is the guy.

I’m not pro JG, but I also don’t think we can do better with the back ups. That said, I would absolutely play them to see what we’ve got. You never know for sure till the lights come on

Tbf we saw them in the Spring game and did not inspire much confidence. 10 points, 3 interceptions, 3 or 4 sacks iirc.

Hopefully they both get PT this Saturday. I'll trust the coaches to make the right call from there.

Rewatching the play - the safety was split by both guys. Callaway may have been the better option though a longer throw, but if he throws it there, then you'd see what appears to be a wide open JJ right down the middle all the same. Given the late throw Callaway would have been guarded just the same.

That's why these screenshots are silly.

JJ was a fine decision but he either has to not hesitate OR throw it deeper (notice plenty of room ahead of JJ would have also worked). Ya just can't be late AND throw it right where the guy is. If he even leads JJ by 1 yard he catches it and the defender only brushes him smh

Agreed, that wasn’t a bad choice he just threw it too late. Never seems to anticipate where the WR will be and just rifles where they are.

I’m gonna try to level the “perceived holiness ratio” that usually sees me rated higher than @Ulysees E. McGill. I look for McGill to get a ratings bump for holding his own during the last two weeks and this should see me drop to a 5.7

Yea, I agree it was strange and not necessarily fair. But I was just responding to you saying Brees wouldn’t let that much time ran off. He did until 26. It was clear they were trying to keep their one TO.

Id take an 0-2 start 100 out of 100 times if it meant beating florida.

If our offense can actually start sustaining scoring drives and actually “scoring” instead of kicking field goals our team is going to be able to hang with some people.

The only thing I’m worried about is a team like Alabama and Georgia who can score on any play and us not being able to answer that.

Read this. This is a fantastic answer that covers a lot of ground. Reaffirms to me he’s the right guy, he’s gonna get it done, just have to have the players, and have to get those players reps. This staff is capable of turning this around, it’s just going to take time.

Was thinking about UF game. Our O is one dimensional right now, we can’t throw. UF run D is really really good! We effed if they don’t find a passing game this week.

This isn't what we had hoped for, but far from, say, 2013. JG may be struggling right now, but we have a passing game. 243 passing yds/game so far. Good WRs, decent TE. It's still a threat. Far from good enough, but it's there.
