I have a feeling that if Shrout or Mauer were named starting QB, turnout would be greater for the game Saturday. Apathy on JG will drive down the attendance.

Not the coaches' job or focus to get people in seats. It is to win games. They'll make decisions based on that. Why people think they should care about "fan excitement" is beyond me. Winning creates fan excitement, losing does not. Ergo, just win. Losing in a way that creates short term exictement does no one any good, that is Butch mentality creating vacuous hype. If a backup gives us the best chance, then they'll play them, not because fans always want the backup.

Anyone noticed that Chaney hasn't dialed up the deep ball for Palmer or Callaway? I don't know if that is due to JG continually checking down or if Chaney doesn't have faith in the O-line.

Part of the reason we won against Auburn & KY were due to the fact that Palmer and other WR's were able to connect on the 50-50 balls on those deep shots down the field. Haven't seen that yet in 2 games.

Yeah I agree we need a couple of those each game. Back shoulder or straight 50-50 balls especially to Callaway. He's too good at high pointing not to.

Vandy fan is already counting TN as their only SEC win.

Yep - I think that pass was on time. Palmer was grabbed right as JG let it go.

Just rewatched, it probably would have been just right if Palmer wasn't tugged on the route. Shoot the ball bounced 1.5 yards from him. Palmer could have even dove, possibly.

Without the tug that's probably a TD and 20-10. Ughhh UT luck
