Here’s where I think our problem would be. We think we know Jeremy had issues with some bigwhig at Alabama, such that according to our “respected” source he would never be allowed to take the head job there, regardless of whether or not he was successful here or elsewhere. I’ve always surmised that he HAD to leave Florida State after only one year and then the stories that we didn’t want to believe about his stint at Georgia sort of indicate a pattern of behavior. He’s often described as extremely arrogant, among other things.

We have people here who tell us that we can’t afford for him to fail, literally can’t afford it, and that’s probably not just about the money involved. They say that we have people at UT that are working behind the scenes to try to fix the things that became even more apparent last Saturday. But what if he tells Fulmer to FO? What if he tells Charlie Anderson to FO?

I'll see you guys later. I get too angry to stay on here when our players are getting trashed because of the failure of their head coach.

And that’s whats so frustrating. “We”, meaning the fans, don’t expect to win anymore. We really don’t. We know we suck.

But talent has nothing to do with playing hard nor does it have an effect on unit cohesion. These guys should be playing hard and be playing together in year 2 if your coaching staff is worth a damn.

thought about that yesterday actually.

didn't want to bring it up, but that thought, and how that could play out with the staff, did run thru the old noggen.........

Tee Martin will not be considered if things go further south with Pruitt.

If the Pruitt hire goes to hell, the uproar from VFLs if Tee doesn’t get his shot will be outrageous. 90% of them pushed for Tee last go around. It’ll be even more so know that he’s back on campus and knows this team and it’s players already.

We’ve tried young brash outsider (Kiffin), get back to our culture fundamentals (Dooley), gimmicky offense small school winner (Butch), and now Saban disciple (Pruitt). The only thing we haven’t tried is to close ranks and hire a VFL.

maybe not. but play out that whole situation/circumstance....firing CJP during or at the end of year 2, with another buyout to pay, and yet another dumpster fire on your hands with a coaching search.

martin, situationally, would make a ton of sense............it's not worth talking about right now, so i apologize for etertaining the notion this much, but......... @Kingston Vol covered a big part of it already.

When I look at your list, VFL isn't what jumps out as missing.

Proven head coach is.

I understand the logic but I think that points to Fulmer doing it

From my point just being a Vol fan
All we want to do is be able to watch a rerun of the past weeks game and watch some good runs...some good pass plays...some great tackling...following our favorite players and watching them grow and develop into All SEC or AA players.

Instead we start off the season with this game...and I can't even bear to watch a rerun or hear the coaches because the play on the field Saturday has drowned all that they can say out.

Fans love to watch the reruns....we are tired of talking about something 20 or 30 years ago...
I don't think I am asking tooooooo much to ask to see some development...I mean how do you go through the spring and summer knowing the fans expectations and then put this on the field on Saturday.
Is it too much just to ask to see some improvement and development of the players.....

true. and that's the part that would have to be reconciled if we were to get to that point.

hope we don't.....really.

but if we do.........let's rip it off like a band aid and not go on a 5 year tease. lol.

I agree mostly, but it can be someone who isn’t the rockstar but has shown a modicum of success at a P5 school. Not your guys or a Peterson, Leach, Fitzgerald (we aren’t going to get them now), but maybe a Mendenhall or Rhule type.

Who knows.
