Gundy would have been just fine any of the 13 times we pursued him. I still think Fuente is a hell of a football coach, but he may not have it to lead a big program. Evidence is mounting against Kelly, but he does have some past success that makes me think he MIGHT (50/50) get it going. The rest are replacement level or worse.

Kelly will never get over the top because of recruiting limitations at ND. He would have been here had Hamilton not run with Kiffin. But he probably would have left to go to ND when they needed a HC. He's a really good coach, but would need recruiting help in the SEC.

Yea, I was giving the specific reason why. Good coach, probably a good leader, not a good recruiter. Why he can win at Memphis and not a bigger school.

Could happen. But one thing I didn't like seeing was BYU's tempo. Especially after seeing we couldn't get set last game and they didn't have much tempo. Has me worried. As does a QB that can run decently.

If we don't get set and ready quickly, they'll burn us. Really really need Bituli out there to get us set and be the captain out there.

On the flipside, does Chaney never use tempo? I swore I saw uga use it, granted sparingly. I just don't get our tempo the last 2 seasons. It's like we really really want the other team to get as set and prepared as possible. Why not get em on their heels and force mistakes? It sure works against us.

In hindsight, Patterson or Cutcliffe were the hires after 2008/2009. Brian Kelly would have been good as well but not sure he would have stayed. Would have job hopped IMO.

It’s been so long since we have been relevant,that I wouldn’t mind being a 10 win team year in and year out without a sec championship or Natty for maybe 3 or 4 years once we got back on her feet and competing with other teams. but how long would you be ok with it?..Georgia was ok with it for like 15 years

I would do unforgivable things for a 10 win season. Winning a national title isn’t even in the realm of discussions atm
