Spent several hours on the lake. Caught some fish, ran around checking spots for later, stopped and had good bbq. I need a job that pays me for this kinda stuff

The majority of US snakes are harmless, even beneficial. Panicked slaughter of serpents saddens me.

I only kill venomous snakes I find around the house. 2 copperheads this year.

We have plenty of black snakes usually, but I haven't seen any this year. Kids are building a "club" in the woods. I walked back there to check for snakes, didn't see any.

I've seen two snakes here that stretched from one side of the driveway to the other. That's 8 feet. They like to sin themselves on the asphalt in late winter/early spring.

I took the dog out one night a couple of years ago, and it was dark. I had just killed a copperhead earlier, and a snake came darting out from under my wife's van. I stomped the crap out of it. Went and got a light, and it was a small black snake

Wife found a girthy 4 ft copperhead in the ivy awhile back. It startled her. She spooked it, and it slithered onto the neighboring property.

We used to have a 6 ft black & gray rat snake on our land. They have bad tempers, but we were happy enough to have it around.

Deer are already moving south. Groups of does & yearlings have been passing through.

I know you don't care for bears, but have you tried bear meat? My uncle brought some down several months ago. I liked it as well.

I've actually eaten it several times and it's good. The best was someone at a wild game dinner had made a roast in a Crock-Pot, and even my kids liked it.
