Team quit on Pruitt cause he’s playing favorites. (Starting JG)

JG lays up on par 5’s. He never tries to drive the green on a short par 4. He won’t go in for the kiss and he’ll never eat a Rocky Mountain oyster. He will never take a risk because it’s not in him.

I still don't understand how any human being could watch that game and come away with the conclusion that "the QB is Tennessee's biggest problem."

We gave up 38 points to a Sunbelt team. The defense looked tired and discombobulated the entire game. Several defensive players just gave up. Georgia State ran at-will against us. It wasn't some series of clever playcalls; their O-line just beat our D-line consistently.

Offense needs to improve, but you can chalk up the offensive struggles to "rust" and "1st game issues". We played careless and had guys make mental mistakes, and the coaches shuffling around the O-line probably helped contribute to that.

But if the D actually does it's job even half of the time, we win that game. JG is not Peyton Manning, but he's the best QB on the roster as of today. If we had landed Adrian Martinez last year, maybe we could talk about there being a better QB than JG on the roster. Right now, there's not. And the defense is BY FAR the much bigger issue.

If we can't stop Georgia State from running the ball on us, what hope do we have against SEC teams with elite running attacks? We could have Trevor Lawrence as our QB and it's not going to make one bit of difference if we let our opponents run for 300+ yards.

If CJP WANTS TO RIGHT THIS SHIP HE HAS TO TAKE ACOUNTABILITY NOT TO US NOT TO THE MEDIA, BUT HIS PLAYERS AND HIS COACHES.
They are a mess right now and it because of him crowning his 2019 class to fast. He has players and some good players we are better then what we saw Saturday. The kids need coaching and the coaches need to be allowed to coach. The coaches need to be allowed to play the players they want and feel can play. Not the guys that have been promised playing time and they not ready to play 3,4,5 star my azz. One freshman Oline is too many to me but two no no no. A guy missed the whole spring and shows two days left in camp and plays over 20 snaps no no no. a guy gets moved to a new position last week of camp and plays over guy that has been learning the position since the spring. SORRY NOT SORRY

👀 hmmmm

OP
What are you talking about? Nobody has said about the WR commenting negatively nor have they commented negatively toward him in any interview. You're attempt to stir the pot doesn't look too successful.

The post says I haven't heard the receivers speak highly of him, which means they don't compliment him or say how good of a QB he is and how they trust him. I'm not saying that they have spoken negatively of him but for a QB in year two and three with some of the same receivers, that strikes me as quite odd. Receivers usually speak highly of their QB, especially when they've played with him this long.

Give JG a couple series against BYU and if things keep going the same u almost have to pull him...It’s not all on JG but Qb is the leader of ur team and no offense I saw nothing close to a leader out their Saturday!

I would think Martin, Weinke and Chaney can evaluate QBs if Pruitt cannot. I do not think JG is a leader either, but I really don’t think the other QBs are a significant upgrade at this point. Would have been good to have won big on Saturday and been able to see each QB play.

I agree you we have two recruits from Pruitt and if neither of them are better than JG we have major problems in evaluating of talent

I disagree. Ideally, you don’t have to put a RS freshman or true freshman into the starting role. They may turn out to be better than JG, but let’s give them some time to mature and learn.

Pruitt wouldn't even use Jarretts name until like 5 weeks into the season last year.

The idea that he is the teachers pet over two guys Pruitt recruited is ****ing idiotic.

Shrout and Maurer have barely been able to hit receivers against air the entire Spring and Summer.

You think JG sucks? Too damn bad for you. Shrout and Maurer are worse as of 9/2/2019. That's just how it is. I say we put Jennings back there again since it's not like we have anybody that can throw him the ball anyway.

maybe so but do know they are kids if they are quitters what has pushed so many to quit
did they quit in high school also or just on us
==================================
Baloney. They are NOT kids. We are speaking English on this board because men and women their age are in the uniform of the USA all over the world.

They in college athletics in many cases are spoiled brats, conditioned to be idolized in HS and now are not cutting it in college football.

Winners win.
Losers lose.

They in the UT athletics uniform are not kids. If they were in our military, their lives would be dependent on how well they got their egos out of the way, and put forth maximum effort to save themselves and their teammates.

The nitwits who are on scholarship who make fun of the school, the team and the fact that an opponent had just kicked their own team's rear, and the opponent was paid almost $1MM to do it, would be drummed out of the military service. And his fellow soldiers would give him a lesson in keeping his mouth shut, and respecting the team, not mouthing off about it on twitter.

Nobody with that kind of attitude is good for a team. That attitude is a cancer to the attitudes of other players. Where the hexx do they get these bozos???

And one more thing: JG is not good enough to be an SEC QB, and UT does not have one good enough to bring in, until next year,hopefully---provided the lousy attitudes and lack of effort on the current team do not keep piling up losses---and run off the recruiting class including the 4star QB.

If Guarantano struggles during the first half against BYU on Saturday, I would give Shrout a chance in the second half and let Guarantano observe from the bench.

You do realize that Bill Belichick was starting Drew Bledsoe over Tom Brady until the former suffered a catastrophic injury and forced him to put in the back-up?

To be fair they had just given Bledsoe 100 million dollars........so they wanted to try and recoup some of the $

Pruitt should have been fired after the game. I was watching SVP interview Tom Hermann and I thought "dang...why can't we have a competent coach like that. A guy that knows what he's doing. A real coach." Imo Pruitt is fatally flawed. A disastrous coach who will get us nowhere. Every day he remains the coach the program dies a little bit more. Its a darn shame. Butch is an upgrade to this disaster. Pruitt is the worst thing to happen to UT...and that's saying a LOT.

I can not agree with Pruitt being the worst thing to happen. The current situation started with Kiffin prior to his arrival even in bad years the players played as a team not for individual focus. Kiffin allowed this stinkin thinking to flourish. Poor Dooley totally lost the team in the first few games. Butch tried to instill heart and broke a critical law of leadership by befriending players. A successful program has players and coaches pulling in the same direction and not taking the field expecting a win just because. Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski. was nearly fire after each of his first two seasons but he had a plan worked the plan and has won 5 national championships. Tennessee needs to find such a coach for a number of their teams. The University has always been a Football and Ladys Basketball juggernaut and both programs are declining and after Saturday the football program may be at bottom. It is hard to imagine losing to a team worse than Ga. State. The AD team needs to quit going after a big name guy at this point and find their Mike Krzyzewski. A hungry upcoming head coach that can instill discipline number one and start team building. As less talented group playing as a team with discipline would have won Saturday. It is a stretch to imagine this team winning more than three games.

So I haven’t heard receivers really speak highly of JG. I haven’t heard his team really referencing him as a leader or the coaching staff. As a 3rd year QB I think that’s kind of strange.

Pruitt has come in and really made a point to play the guys who perform and he’s continuing to start JG. I think the team knows what we know about JG and they’re not buying in to him. He handicaps the offense and it makes Pruitt look like a hypocrite who is playing favorites.

I think that plus playing guys like Jeremy Banks at linebacker (a guy who’s never played snaps at LB and just started practicing with the group) and To’o(a true freshman who’s been on campus for 4 months) shows the players that Pruitt only cares about his guys. I think it caused a divide amongst the team and that’s why I think those boys didn’t rally together when they were getting hit in the mouth. Also explains why Pruitt didn’t bother trying to rule them up cause he knows how they feel already.

Going to be a long year fellas
I think a lot of People including Players, Know JG can't win, he is not a Winner!

Are the practices still going to remain closed now that the "cats out of the bag?" I mean now that we've seen the goods, who cares if someone sees a practice? It would be nice to have a 3rd party watch and evaluate all our options, in every position, during a normal practice week...especially our QBs!

Do you know that to be a FACT? Or are you getting that idea from the narrative you’ve HEARD from practices that are closed to the public?

I’ve been there a few times and watched just as you suggested. I’ve told what I personally seen with my own eyes and it didn’t blow over well.

We didnt run the ball more than 100 yards. We got -2 rushing yards in the second half. They hung 38 points on us. This isn’t a JG issue. It is a line and overall defensive issue.
