Don't know why I've been in such a commenting mood since Sat nite but here is another.

The good --- There is no way that the talent level at Tenn is as bad as it looked Sat. This team is bound to win some games even though the schedule is getting tuffer

The bad --- There was something definitely off Sat. It falls on the coaching staff regardless, mainly the HC. If it is locker room related it probably can't be fixed, at least this year.

The ugly --- If it isn't fixed this year, you are probably looking at a new coaching search to give hope, or apathy sets in and this program is headed for mediocrity long term. You see many more fans disgusted and when they are lost, young fans aren't coming back to replace them.

Only thing I disagree with is one of the last points. We have already been in long-term mediocrity, with little hope on the horizon for that to change.

Nah, we've been shown that our administration is confident the fans will remain loyal no matter what...and by loyal, I mean spend millions on the program. Even IF a change was made, it would be another middle finger to the fans.

I’m obviously not privy to what is/or has happened behind the scenes up there but this was really a first for me- at least at the start of a season.

We’ve all witnessed the loss that we know is likely coming when we see that the team has folded or quit on the coach. But this- the first game of the season (at Neyland), after upgrades on the staff, after a supposedly positive spring and summer, with positive news getting Solomon and Trey Smith available to play. A new year to redeem yourself for the collapse at the end of last season plus the fact you’re the more talented team going up against a team that could only muster 2 wins last year leaves everyone scratching their head.

This reminds me of a team that has stopped playing for their coach. I hope this is not what we witnessed but it’s impossible not to consider that a possibility.

We're in the long term mediocrity. Even worse

I'm hoping we get a break and JP leaves on his own so we don't have to pay a buyout. I can see him going back to Bama as DC if Nick opens up a spot for him. Sticking around UT with a team that's quit in the first game against a FCS team is more risk to his career, than cutting bait and heading back to Bama as a DC. He may not want to be a HC after this experience.

You guys are a bunch of frickin morons. It's one game; give them a chance.[/QUOTE. You are the moron. It was Georgia State and a clear indication of where the program stands today despite all the optimism with recruiting. It has more significance than “It’s one game”.

Jp just needs some time, he is learning on the job and has to correct some things. He is getting his talent in and slowly upgrading the roster. This and next year should be rebuilding years

You're supposed to be able to rebuild and not get embarrassed at home by a 2-10 sunbelt team.

When I say long term mediocrity I mean turning into the Pitt Panthers of the SEC. Never to return. May already be there......

Fantastic troll job!! I always enjoy when someone takes time to craft a good troll post.

A rival urging patience after one of the worst losses in school history is what gave you away. Heck, if floriduh had been blown off the field by a physically smaller team I would be urging patience for them as well.

Bravo, my gator friend. Bravo.
