DG's TL;DR Thoughts on Vandy, the Season, and the Future

Like many on here, I agree with what you've said except for JG. We just don't know how much of the playbook is limited by his limitations. Were it not for some really good WRs, his stats would surely suffer. The most important positions on offense are the QB, the center (who calls blocking schemes) and the RB. Our QB is 2nd string in most of the other SEC schools IMHO.

Always a good read. But don't share your optimism in the offense or JG. Not saying they can't show something different next year, but looking beyond the deficiencies, I'm not sure the O has a 14 ppg improvement in it.

Bravo. Nice analysis. I agree with most of what you wrote.

Not convinced we saw improvement through the season. We were inconsistent. Peaked at Kentucky, IMO, when our o line gave their best effort of the season.

Outside of that, it didn’t feel like we got consistently better as the season went along.

I want to believe we are in the right track, but so many of our losses were blowouts that I’m not sold yet.

Sorry to pour salt in the wound. But I’d like to resurrect this thread from last season.

I just don’t see that our program is on an upward trajectory.

I did this earlier today. No body wanted anything to do with it.

But, like you, i think there is a lot of validity in looking at where we were last year and where we are right now.

Any changes? Any improvement?

After 12 months and 2 recruiting cycles...over half the guys are CJP's...i STILL see:
lackadaisical play
a team unprepared
no QB pressure
O line issues
absolutely no energy.
