If Pruitt has checked out, which appears to be the case, you have to slide Chaney in as interim HC. He’s the most experienced guy on the staff and is smart enough to know what to do to get the ship turned around this year before this gets out of hand

I don’t think Pruitt has checked out. You don’t just lose the will to win. I think he was extremely upset and didn’t want to say anything to the national media that would put his players on blast. Last year he got crucified when he put his players on blast instead of blaming himself.

I’m going to be honest. Last night was deflating, but I’m gonna wait and see till we play BYU. If we play terrible again, then I think more is wrong than we might think. Also, could Georgia State be better than what we though? Possibly. To me it just seemed like our defense was lost last night. Offense seemed okay, nothing special, but the defense is what lost us the game

Offense should have put 50 on them with the right game plan and execution.

Defense is inexperienced and young. But, the offense has veteran players including JJ and MC that didn’t touch the ball enough, especially down the field. Vols were a nightmare matchup for them in the passing game.

Vols just didn’t get the ball to the WR’s enough even when the QB had time and that’s been a reoccurring problem for him.

What is there to disagree about? Did you watch the games yesterday? We aren’t beating Vandy and definitely not Kentucky. We may beat USCjr I doubt we beat Mizzou but there’s a chance. This team sucks and we may get our asses handed to us next week.

Honestly, best case scenario, besides a miracle of winning a bunch of games this fall, is that we lose every game and UT is forced to fire the staff and start over. A coaching search this fall would be the only thing worth looking forward to as a Vol fan.

Go hire Mike Leach this November. Offense would be fun and press conferences would be even better.

You think Leach would still come? I wanted him the last coaching search.

From the beginning it was talked about that this is a 3 year rebuild. Does it suck? Yes but it is what it is at this point we lost.

The rebuild shouldn't include losing to a 2-10 Sunbelt team though. At home. And looked way lost in almost every aspect of the damn game.

I don’t understand how our defensive line was so bad. It literally makes no sense. How in the heck do we have guys that can’t even line up properly.... I just don’t understand.

2nd team is a demeaning designation. We are rolling with the "either/or" first team designation. Explains all the substitutions.

Come on @BruinVol you know how this works.Imagine being a player on defense and seeing your QB go 3 straight downs each possession then comes to the sideline like nothing is going on?..as the leader if he doesn’t give a damn why should I?..defense and offense go hand and hand.A really good deep defense can keep you from scoring for about 3 to 5 possessions and that’s saying if the offense goes 3 downs and out each time.after that your defense begins to just wear down.i believe we are good enough on defense that if we ever find a good inspired QB,you’ll see a huge difference in the players.i just think it starts from the top.

Oh please. So now we're saying that the defense stinking up the joint, giving up 38 points to Ga St, unable to get stops and get off the field against Ga St was because the defensive players didn't see the guy on offense come off the field with fire? Yeah, ok.

I don't think you can fix the issues we saw yesterday in ~6 days. Or even in-season at all. The coaches are just as disjointed, confused, and "every man for himself" as the players. 1-11.
