There are so many on this board who just feast on the negativity. They don’t even really want the VOLS to be successful. That’s why you see them post so much in difficult times. They come out of the woodwork for these moments.
As sunshiney as I am... it’s over. Pruitt will never recover from yesterday’s humiliating loss. UT will take too long to make a change, recruiting will fall off a cliff, the program is basically dead. We’re less than Vandy and will be for at least 2 years after they fire this staff and hire a new one. Sucks. But our team showed no fire, neither players or coaches. Our players didn’t even know where to be or what to do. All they know is losing. And they seem to be okay with it.

Only way to fix it this season is to win the next 3 games and go on a run and shock the world. But we all know that’s not happening.

I post all the time and I just wanted 7 wins and have fun at games but our lunch was the highlight of yesterday. To wait all year and then watch the lack of caring on the sideline just blew me away. I am a football nega vol at this point. Never felt like this before. I am out of optimism for football now. But we have women’s soccer.

You know I think we/I were a lot like the team yesterday. We were excited all week, looking forward to playing BYU and Florida after watching their performances.

We patted ourselves on the back because we could already see 1-0 against a team that went 2-8 last year and us on the rise ready to climb back up the mountain to our castle with other great programs.

We got up. Put on our newest uniforms, made good food and and celebrated in drink. I sat and watched the game emotionless yesterday afternoon. I didn’t get up for Ga State because I was looking at 1-0. Hoping for no injuries, an early big lead and a rotation of our starters to rest for next week and experience for others.

Well I got what I prepared for and so did the team. It won’t happen again for me and I am sure it won’t happen again for this coaching staff or our players. Don’t take anything for granted.

Everyday I don’t train my enemy grows stronger.

Difficult times? Did this site even exist in the not difficult times?

I'm sorry. We all want the same thing here man.

I feel like most people set their hopes high and get disappointed.

You expect to be disappointed and hope to be surprised.

I’m like everyone else when it comes to football, and like you when it comes to faculty meetings. I get it. I don’t see why some other folks don’t.

We all want to Vols to not be a dumpster fire.

We
I went to the game yesterday. Was emotionless walking out afterward. I said I thought this was a 6-6 team...I really hope UT can win 6 games.

Can someone please explain the constant subbing/rotating on defense? I know the team is trying to find depth, but DT should not come out as long as he is healthy.
We thought it was a tune up game to get a lot of guys reps. Once we realized we were in trouble it was too late. The constant subbing on the OL is beyond stupid. Those guys have to be on the same page and work together. Find your best 5 and play them. If you haven't found them yet then you haven't done your job as a coach. Smdh

Piling on or not it’s an issue. There is no buzz or energy within our program even before the loss. Just show up to work and go home. You have to motivate players. They aren’t getting it done at all and haven’t been since the end of the season last year.
Yeah it’s so strange. After dominating a good KY game we’ve looked like dog ****. Baffling

I’m torn between thinking Pruitt and co are totally inept and need to go immediately, and maybe just admitting that we are in a Kentucky level rebuild and he needs all 6 years of that contract.

How many more times can we fire a coach after 3-4 years? If we think a coach has potential, which I still think Pruitt does, maybe we just stick it out? Jesse Palmer was pretty blunt last night on CFB Final, straight saying “where is the talent for UT? Where are the players? Peyton Manning, Al Wilson, Jamal Lewis, John Henderson, the guys I played against?” Didn’t hold back.

Butch left a bunch of 240-260 O/DL for Pruitt to work with. These guys are getting pushed around by Georgia State. Maybe this situation is so much worse than we want to believe. Coaching was a serious problem in that game, but our guys were getting beat at every level. Warrior whiffing on the game sealing TD run summarizes it soundly.

The program may well be stuck in another long hole, and I seriously don’t think any good coach loses to Ga St in year 2. Worst case, this year is an absolute disaster and Pruitt is gone, best case he survives, Bailey comes in and carries him to two 9 win seasons like Butch/Dobbs and we restart the cycle afterwards. Or maybe that’s worst case, who knows...

Either way, don’t think this program can truly “die” or descend to the depths of UK/Vandy for the long-term future just due to the massive fanbase, resources, recruiting base, etc. Even in this massive hole we’re in right now they’re still pulling in players. Recruiting here will always be doable.

And I know Nebraska comes to mind quick, but it’s way harder to pull good recruiting classes to Lincoln than Knoxville, and that’s not gonna change.

What does this have to do with letting the media view more practices?

The way to create buzz is to let people, fans, media etc inside your program to basically advertise it. I know we hate the term salesman bc of butch but you still have to sell your program. We don’t do that at all

I hate the logic of playing with a vanilla playbook for cupcakes. I would come at them with everything I got, and make them have to watch a crap ton of film and wonder if *that* was our vanilla playbook.

That last corner blitz that dumped Guarantano was a thing of beauty. You know they weren’t holding back anything.

You play to f@&$ing win.

This is one of those I’ll have a hard time getting over. If these coaches want the f@&$ out, cut them now. Rumph can go wherever and Rocker can go watch his son play baseball. I’m also pissed off about Pruitt being upset with the fan base last year for not supporting the team during the orange and White game or whatever he was mad about. Then they lay this egg...

Don't sweat it. Some may come at you looking to vent but it's true. There are absolutely regular negative posters but also some we almost never hear from that show up for these moments like buzzards to roadkill.

Yeah but I feel like we have enough talent to overcome that. Maybe we just don’t care idk.

Yea honestly it shouldn’t matter. You don’t spend all off season and quite honestly the game week just diving in studying hard on GA state. You work on your go to sets and plays and add in some wrinkles on offense and defense that you may or may not even use.

But JG improved his accuracy this offseason though🙄.Not to mention he has no touch whatsoever, for example the drive play of the ******* game.👀🤷🏽‍♂️
JG reminds me of a dog that was beat as a puppy and no matter how good life is always flinches when you go to pet it. He’s showed clear improvement moving protections around, running more decisively, etc. BUT he’s just broken..holding the ball to make something happen, taking big sacks, throwing without touch because he’s trying to force things. Gotta play loose and he plays stressed. This season (to me) just became 100% about preserving the Bailey commitment.

Rumph and Rocker are on the second Bus out of here...The 1st bus ride out of here belongs to will friend especially if Chaney is more hands on with the O Line and teaching them physicality this year..why is Friend still here?..he’s no friend of mine.

This is like Christmas to you and I’m the problem? I wait all year for this $hit and I’m not going to let one loss no matter who it’s to ruin something I love. I still think we get to 7 wins. If I’m wrong I’m wrong, but I’m still gonna go to games and have a good time instead of sulk like a little bit@h on a message board.

I’m sulking and used to be like you. Hope we beat BYU but the lack of give a crap on the sideline yesterday did me in. Then our coach makes some of the comments he did. He also ignored a handicapped kid we were trying to bless to go to a game. Blew it completely off. He’s a prick. Don’t worry, we got it taken care of thru a true Tennessean. Family will be in a skybox and get to meet a real football coach not named Jeremy. So yes, I am not Pruitts biggest fan and pissed on so many levels and not just this game. @wuwh_08

Time to quit blaming Butch. Even Butch's players should beat that team yesterday. This is all on the coaching staff not developing the players, or totally overlooking a team in order to prepare for the next opponent.
