Does Fulmer Survive?

I don’t think it has anything to do with “should” Fulmer be fired. As many point out, this wasn’t his search. He had to pick up the pieces after it had already been mucked up by Currie. He probably did the best he could do under the circumstances.

But, if certain people wanted to us it for a power play, I think it is very possible.
That’s the story he will tell anyway.

Pruitt is here through 2021 regardless. Fulmer will step down after next year when we are still a dumpster fire, and the next AD will terminate Pruitt at the end of 2021, and we get to start this whole process over again for a 5th time in 15 years.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

We all know that the train wreck continues. And UT likely will face a very difficult decision after this season given the way buyout payments keep piling up because of the continued incompetence with hiring coaches.

But, the Schiano fiasco, Currie firing, and Fulmer/Pruitt hirings were an “in your face” to the Haslams by Davenport. Davenport has been sent packing and it will be very easy to pin this Pruitt disaster on Fulmer.

Do we end up with the worst of all worlds? Another Haslam puppet as the AD and another Haslam influenced hire as HFC? Possibly Schiano?

Maybe my fears are unwarranted, but I could see this very power play and it getting worse before it gets better. Talk me off the ledge.
Not sure Fulmer is the problem.

The team on the field today looked like some in the last years of Fulmer Reign. He put this mess together....he should be held responsible.

I’ve never understood the hostility towards our 152-52 HOF coach and the greatest Vols coach of my lifetime. I left this board years ago because the vitriol against Fulmer never ceased. I guess some things never change.

With exception of our ability to contend!
