No way this is a double digit win team.. 8 wins is the ceiling . 7 wins more likely. However I'm not sold that this team is any better until I actually see it. 6 wins or less with an easier schedule this year Would tell me probably don't have the right staff.

We will soon find out. I think it means a big difference when the players buy into a program and confidence is flowing throughout the program.

Agreed very few coaches would go out on a limb and say that coming off the season we had last year and our recent history. Nothing to gain in saying it.

The players need to convince themselves they're really good. There's enough left from 2-3 years of thinking they were good only to find "ehh, not really". Need 3 solid games and no let downs. Do that and beat Florida, we could be legit again. 4 of 5 times Florida has beat us in the last 30 years is because they believed to their core. Like it was a right, not a luxury.

Don't do that to yourself, Jack. If it turns out to be true and we really are a Good team, notice he didn't say great, awesome, elite, Top 10 or 5, but "good"..... then you might get too excited and it could effect your blood pressure and cause some serious health issues, even death.

Its far safer to believe that we just might be " good" and take the chance on not being and being disappointed.

You would expect the coach to set expectations he doesn't feel he can meet? Or you expect the coach to have been in every practice, after having coached multiple national title teams, and express that we're surprisingly good?
